Or one that is barely effective and gives people a false sense of security.
Eventually we have to move on, but few people who know and agree are willing to say it because they don’t want to deal with the incoming vilification. We will move on and live with this, with many of you dragged kicking and screaming. People won’t live with masks and businesses closed forever. The economic damage may never be recovered, we destroyed so many peoples livlihoods by dictating their businesses shut down.

I have a friend who had Covid and is now fully recovered. She was sick for about a week. Her husband, 2 daughters, and son in law all tested positive. Not one of the others had any symptoms. Yes, we will eventually have to live with this and just move forward.

Very few sports. Probably ~500K deaths by end of year 2021. Maybe more.
However, there is every reason to think several vaccines will be on the market in early 2021 and numerous promising treatments should (hopefully) become widely available later this year.

many leagues will go under...will not be able to sustain two straight years of playing with no revenue coming in from ticket sales and what not

That will completely depend upon who is POTUS. Not because of his/her policies and mandates as much as how the media will guide public opinion.

If Biden wins, whatever crappy vaccine they come up with will be promoted as the savior to all of our problems. If Trump wins, we will all be kept inside until 2024 under the guise of protecting public health (at least in blue states) because any vaccine thats created will be determined by the media to be either ineffective or just another way for Trump to enrich himself on the taxpayers dime, and anyone who uses it will be vilified and called "anti science".

Governments will begin eliminating 1/7 of the population by decree to administer social distancing via population control. This will take care of the need to reopen some of the lost businesses since there will be fewer people to serve. It will also place less burden on social programs decimated by loss of tax revenues. Only question is who will be chosen as the one out of every seventh person and who gets to do the choosing.
