Clemson more or less refuses to host a Friday night game due to loss in revenues compared to hosting a Saturday game. It is a much bigger hit to our program hosting a Friday night game than it is for a school like BC or Syracuse (basically any school in the ACC not Clemson or FSU)

Big Ten also plays Friday night games but the top schools from that conference also refuse to host games on Friday (PSU, OSU, MICH, etc). They are still required to play away games on Friday but will never host a game.

My son played varsity 4 years in Illinois and all his games were on Friday night (B1G territory). If there were 4 high ranked, large public schools playing each other, they would sometimes play one Friday and one Saturday. Now as far as in Chicago proper, the private and church league schools played a lot of Saturday games.

Playoff games were usually split between Friday and Saturday like in SC.

People up there didn't like Friday night College football or Saturday high school games any more than most of the fans. The worst was youth football that played on Sundays. I didn't see many NFL games for 3 years when my son was playing youth league.
