TL16 has played his final Clemson game.

Mar 13, 2020, 8:38 PM

Yes or No.

There are currently around 2100 cases. This thing may slow a little in the summer, but I can 100% guarantee that there will be far more than 2100 active cases in September.

Especially as testing becomes more prominent, the numbers will increase.

If we are cancelling sports due to 2100 cases, there's absolutely no way we will have sporting events in 6 months. I just don't see any possible way.

We are slowing this thing down...which is great because you don't want to over run the hospitals...but I just don't see any chance that numbers are down in September.

Common sense says numbers will be significantly higher.

It’s not about the number of cases though. They’re trying to buy time in order to learn more about the virus, have more testing available, come up with treatment options, gain resources for treatment, possibly come up with vaccines, etc...

common sense is too weak to comprehend this obviously

Mar 13, 2020, 9:00 PM [ in reply to Virus has to run its course. ]

That's why people are making toilet paper runs and generally freaking out. There are very likely going to be MILLIONS of people infected and a very small percentage will die. Just like the Flu every year. By May the media will be trying a new tactic.

Saying stupid stuff like "2100 infected now means 6 times as many come fall" is using common sense. weak.

Probably will have a higher fatality rate than the flu.

#### man. Try using real statistics and data before go spewing dumb chit. South Korea is the best example of middle of Covid and modernized medicine. Look up the actual data of death rate befor you come up with dumb theories. Guessing you don’t have much contact with the world. Talk to people in China and Italy and South Korea to understand this is the same as the flu. Be smart, protect yourself, be smart... don’t be an pandemic idiot

Re: common sense is too weak to comprehend this obviously

Mar 14, 2020, 5:06 AM

I am using real statistics from the World Health Organization. They have it at 3.4% mortality rate. Other sources have it at about 126,000 known cases worldwide with 4,600 deaths. What is that about 3.6%? Only morons don't realize that it has a higher mortality rate than the flu at the moment. Also, even if you use the best scenario of South Korea, it is still way deadlier than the flu, which we have a vaccine for. The flu has a mortality rate of 0.1%. There are 8,806 known cases of coronavirus in South Korea with 72 deaths. That's just about 0.9%. That's about 9 times more deadly in a good scenario. Maybe one day the mortality rate will be equal to the flu. Its not at the moment.

Mar 13, 2020, 9:12 PM [ in reply to Virus has to run its course. ]

then this virus has gone totally off the rails and football will be the least of your worries.

For the record - I believe the USA will have COVID-19 under control before Football season and while there will still be infections we will be well over the other side of that infection curve that Dr. Fauchi talks about.

Thought about this too. What if the ncaa granted another year of eligibility? So he would effectively be playing his junior year in 21. I know he only has to be 3 years removed from high school for the nfl but would he stick around if he lost a year?

Absolutely this!!! Sometime this summer when the green light appears there will be an explosion of happiness/spending/the economy etc and football will be one of the major benefactors of this rejuvenation!!!

It’s gonna suck for all of us over the next few months though...but it’s a necessary sacrifice that will reap great benefits for all in the future...we’ll all except for the ones who die!!! Just sayin!!!

Singapore is the country to keep your eyes on right now. Temps are in the 90s, only 200 cases right now, no deaths, and 97 recoveries thus far.
