Would Dabo allow Aril Gilbert to transfer to Clemson?

CLEMSON TIGERS ACC Atlantic Clemson Tigers Football One team that would make a great deal of sense for him would have to be the Clemson Tigers. Though not in-state at Georgia, Clemson, South Carolina is right on the Georgia border, only an hour-and-change away from his native Marietta. As with Alabama, Gilbert would play in the College Football Playoff just about every year. This is a fantastic spot for him to possibly go to. In fact, Gilbert took seven unofficial visits to Clemson as a recruit.

Why does he sit out in 2021? Go look at at the portal stats. About 80% of the transfers are playing immediately.

Then we gotta make them say "no". Never know if we don't ask. And I KNOW how Fields got an immediate OK to play. Whatever OSU and LSU are doing to work the portal, we need to do the same. Go after the graduate guys (Trey Sermon) and take an occasional shot with undergrads too. That is, if Dabo can drop his outdated stance, evolve and start actually considering portal players.

I do think he will end up a Dawg. My real question behind the question is since he made so many trips to Clemson and we were in it up to the end. Would Dabo consider this transfer.

We have currently Jaelyn Lay "who is suppose to be the best TE in school history but we just havent heard of him yet" according to a Clemson coach in 09/16/20 interview. BV raved about him during his highschool summer camp, he may be just a work in progress. Davis Allen, Braden Galloway (who basically was a non factor all year with an xssexception of 2 or maybe 3 games) and incoming Jake Briningstool who is suppose to be the next Gronkowski and some. We'll see. BV raived about Lay like 2 years ago but have yet to see anything from him yet. Davis showed some promise this year. It just seems the HC/OC still dont have the confidence in our TE'S yet as they did when Allen/Leggett/Ford was here. Just not a go to option yet. Not sure why Gilbert would transfer here.

Elliott has a ton of talent available at TE that rarely gets used. It would seem with all the trouble we have with our OL that they could at least be used for blocking, but that doesn't seem to happen either.

Why would we want a player that had made 6 visits to Clemson, and chose another school. We don't need anyone that couldn't see that Clemson was right for him after 6 trips. He wanted promises that our coaching staff don't make, and he probably found out he was lied to by the coaches he committed to!!! We don't need him!!!
