Will Clemson fans travel to NC this year?

Dec 1, 2020, 7:49 PM

Trying to figure out tickets, hotels, etc. I don't think hotels will be tough to find so I am letting my hotels go. Trying to figure out how many tickets to try and get. Assuming 20,000 - 25,000 in attendance and Clemson vs. Bama, how many Clemson fans will go/not go because of Covid?

Thanks for your opinion.

Being in MIami (driving distance---some direct flights to FLL & MIA), I think CLEM would easily sell out its allotment. That stadium is MUCH improved since we last played in it. Much better stadium than say the TIAA stadium in JAX. I went to the Orange Bowl last year (UF vs. UVA)---the stadium is a draw now. Warm weather helps too.

I've been to several UF games this year.....minus the lack of juice from big crowds...I would argue the experience (no wait driving in to park, no wait to get into stadium, no wait to get drinks, no wait for bathroom and tons of room with no one sitting on top of you)...is actually a better experience minus the excitement factor.

Speaking for me, I'm more cautious of COVID in crowded stores, etc.....than being in an outdoor stadium with hand sanitizer and wearing a mask. I had literally no worries in the three games I've been to. I think a reduced crowd would offset any lack of demand. Its still the National Championship...again, within driving distance. CLEM would easily bring its allotment or more IMO

Clemson will sell out of its allotment of say 7500 for sure IMO. I'm trying to gauge demand beyond that. Seems like it could be quite big. Agreed with all you said about grocery, liquor, etc. being a greater risk than an outdoor stadium.

Agreed....I think we would sell more than that IMO. I've been the seven NC games....in my experience, the only thing that hurts sales is a) lack of interest due to experience getting old (see Bama and CLEM to a lesser extent) and b) distance (if coupled with a) above.

I think the tailgate will bring many more than will be in the game...particularly this year.

CLEM vs UF or OSU would have more demand than say CLEM vs. BAMA

Clemson can move 25,000 tickets by itself

While I had planned on going this year if we made it....

We can't go due to COVID. I love games in Miami.

That being said, I think Clemson fans will show up.

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

I’ve been to all the others but will probably sit this one out, assuming we make it. I’ve always got my tickets through IPTAY but doubt I’ll qualify this year, which presents a risk. I doubt you’d refund my money if they decide last minute to not allow fans...IPTAY would.

It always costs a small fortune to attend those games so I don’t know if I want to risk the potential last minute changes.

Its Clemson and Bama, not Cal and Stanford

I would expect demand to be extremely high if capacity is greatly reduced. Let's assume the stadium is at 1/4 capacity. Do you really think covid will deter 75% of Clemson and bama fans from making the trip? I sure dont.

Im just guessing here, but I think it could be the toughest and most expensive ticket to date for a Clemson game.

That's of course assuming we actually get a playoff and then they actually allows any fans to attend at all.

Sure seems like there will be a playoff as they keep pushing forward. And it's in FL so fans will be allowed. Will there be 15,000, 20,000,25,000, or 30,000? That's really the question.
