Come on man

A mob entered the capitol interrupting congress and causing a lockdown, and not a single person was arrested prior to the curfew. They weren't met with force until a single Secret Service agent drew a line in the sand. Instead they were allowed to wander through areas (causing a potential security nightmare), and then escorted away. Listening to the DC police chief today he said that the only arrests came AFTER the curfew which meant hours later when the slowest (and by that I mean mentally) decided not to leave the city.
There were no mass arrests of the folks who had rioted their way into the capitol. Now, I know they are looking into the available video and arresting folks later, but it is an interesting contrast to the rubber bullets and large military style reaction to the social unrest mobs and rioting from this Summer.

More often than not I remember authorities abandoning precincts and whole parts of cities in lieu of confronting law breakers. That rubber bullet stuff was absolutely the exception rather than the rule. They completely stood down.

Where they were met with armed security/military.
And I'm not actually faulting much of the response yesterday. They were certainly undermanned considering the potential issues at hand, but once it was on I understand the pragmatic approach they took to falling back and ushering the crowd out.

Hang with me, I'm taking the long way around this point.....one of the common arguments against the relevance of the 2nd amendment is "good luck against modern military....people would get destroyed".....but I presume the Capitol is pretty well defended and it folded like a paper bag just due to being overwhelmed by a not huge number of people. Not going anywhere with it, just interesting to me.

T3Tiger Snowflake Softie, they werent using the race card, they were just simply stating facts, look at the nat guard trump sent to the lincolm mem.
do you know who activates the nat guard in DC? The POTUS.
he activated them for BLM and did not activate them yesterday. pence had to do it yeaterday.
BLM at lincoln Mem was much more peacful than yesterdays rioters.
dispute that! come at me bro!
with all that said, I dont think I / we can compare such incidents. the BLM protests are similar to many protests over the past 100 years. yesterdays riot was unique in the past 100 years.

The Trump Admin refused it. The same Admin that invited this group and incited it.

300 protesters this summer versus a group of 30,000?

Is this more of your willful ignorance or are you just too lazy to read what you linked to gain context?

Sorry. 3000.
You know what I know today? More than I did yesterday.
You pivoted away from the Trump Admin refusing the request for National Guard. Let's not lose track over petty squabbles.

I don't speak for the Mayor or know what's on her mind.

Why do you refuse to address the fact that the Trump Admin refused the Mayor's request for the Guard this week and pivot to summer instead? That happened. You started with nobody thought that group would cause problems (joke). Mayor requested Guard support. Trump Admin refused it. Chaos ensued from the group Trump invited and incited.

joint session of Congress with the VP in tow, storming through the halls and offices looking for its members is an act of domestic terrorism. Republican senators have said as much. This isn't just the mayor talking. It's nearly everyone with a free and reasoned mind stating this.
Trump could give 2 spits about a Dem mayor's judgment. He wanted his folks to have free reign and they had it. The buck stopped there.

fence and enter the White House back then are hopefully still behind bars or at least out on bail facing federal charges. Who is condoning that? Besides, Trump wasn't taken to a bunker. He went their on his own volition to inspect it with Melania, as he said. He wouldn't lie about that, would he?
You keep saying that Biden didn't condemn riots, looting, and destruction during the summer. That is patently false. The right to protest? Of course. Just like today he defended the right to protest, though he was clear that those who invaded the Capitol were NOT protesting, they were a riotous mob.
The "race card" you refer to is the response to the BLM event there, well after the initial rancor, where DC's monuments had armed guardsmen protecting them - a nice show of force. The problem with your race card ploy here is that those crowds were very mixed, heavily bi-racial. It was about Blacks, but it was far more than only Blacks that participated. Forces all over the place that day. Capitol Police only yesterday, despite requests for more assistance in advance and denied by the event organizer in chief.
