This is me recommending Mexican restaurants in the Greenville area.

If you want the best quick Mexican food in town go to Las Meras Tortas. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. (PSA: If you order dos tacos de cueritos and the guy taking your order looks shocked and says in a slightly higher pitched voice, to emphasize his surprise, “dos tacos de cueritos?”, it’s probably because he doesn’t think you’re gonna like it and not because you mispronounced something. And he’s probably right about you not liking the pickled pork skin tacos. They were good, but texturally difficult to consume the second one. But I powered through it like a champ.)

Mextizos on Haywood, is actually a sister restaurant to Las Meras Tortas but seems to cater more to the gringo side of town instead of Little Mexico so for me it loses a little of its je ne sais quoi. (See, I’m speaking Spanish.)

But if your looking for the traditional American style Mexican restaurant, I’ve had Los Mayas off of Pelham Rd twice and have not been disappointed. I would recommend all of these Mexican restaurants in Greenville.

Thank you for your time and you are very welcome.

PS: Yes, Papas and Beer is good too. But I can never get away from the Chile Verde Burrito so who knows what the rest of the menu tastes like? Also Rosalindas is good too, but I haven’t been in years so I don’t know what’s up these days. But Tipsy Taco sucks balls and so does Willy’s Tacos too.

Want taco truck tacos without the taco truck?

Nov 21, 2019, 3:21 PM

Taqueria Mixtepec unit A, 121 Hunts Bridge Rd, Greenville, SC 29617.

There is also a taco truck at the mexian bakery/ grocery store on Pleasantburg over by Bob Jones.

My dad's girlfriend really likes the table side guac at Papa's and Beer so we go there a few times a year.

My go to for typical sit down joint is puerto vallarta close to the movie theater on Pleasantburg.

Las Meras Tortas is awesome. Might be the only "non-hispanic" in there.

Taco Truck across from Bob Jones on Pleasantburg are very good.

On Tuesdays, Uncle Bertos Burritos at Five Forks has $1 Tacos which are pretty good as well.

I agree on the Las Meras Tortas.

No, but cocaine is still around.

Nov 21, 2019, 3:48 PM

So I guess one could infer that it's still there in spirit.
