University can’t go into phase two of reopening

Jun 9, 2020, 2:29 PM

Because of a recent rise in cases. But protests including one in Clemson are being encouraged. The hypocrisy of it all is just so tiresome. I don’t even think corona is that serious but you can’t have it both ways

More testing = More cases. So, not too surprising. Hope it comes back down, not just for football. Just don't want more folks hurting or worse.

While it is true that more testing is going to show more positive cases, the percentage of those that have been tested that result in a positive case has been on the rise. It is something to keep an eye on.

considering the CDC said they have probably over counted the deaths from Covid 19 by at least 25% and take into account the horrible policies in states that put Covid 19 patients in NURSING HOMES which accounted for tens of thousands of undue deaths bc of those decisions and you'll find this thing is about the same mortality rate as the flu. We don't expose our elderly to the flu yet some of these Givernors thought it would be fine to put these Covid patients in nursing homes? Not only that they paid these nursing homes with state funds to take these Covid patients knowing it would likely kill them and nursing homes wanting money obliged his orders for money. Oh and that same Governor signed an executive order stating that nursing homes can't be sued. So tell me something doesn't smell fishy? This whole thing has been agenda driven and the sad thing is people have died bc of the dumb decisions of these crooked Governors. This is what happens when the Government thinks they know better than you. This thing should have never been treated any different than the flu. Irregardless of what some think people tend to know how to take care of themselves a little better than people in Washington. I guarantee you half of the people who have died would still be alive if not for the intervening of the Government. Not to mention half the people who have died during all thsi didn't die from Covid but thats besides the point.

Saw where 40% or so of all the deaths were in nursing homes, with NY state having the most due to Gov Cuomo's orders that nursing homes MUST accept COVID-positive patients. He basically sent the virus into the nursing homes for PC reasons (don't want to stigmatize anyone, oh no!).

Irregardless isn't a word. Irrespective is and so is regardless but smashing them together cancels out their meaning. Like when the ghostbusters crossed the streams........ :)

For all the English police, according to www.dictionary.com
"Irregardless is a nonstandard synonym for regardless, which means “without concern as to advice, warning, or hardship,” or “heedless.” Its nonstandard status is due to the double negative construction of the prefix ir- with the suffix -less. ... The bottom line is that irregardless is indeed a word, albeit a clunky one."

Sadly, a lexicographer's job is descriptive, not prescriptive. Which is to say, dictionary makers just put in the words people use, even if they're "wrong". Which is why "literally" now has an entry that means "not literally" and "lol" is in the OED. Once enough ignorant people misuse a word, it reaches a critical mass and gets put into the dictionary, allowing still more ignorant people to reference said dictionary entry as proof that their abuse of the language is perfectly justified.

Do teachers teach the question “Where you at?” Rather irritating. Seems the norm at all ages. Just rambling. As you were ..
