We're just trying to make it through 4 years, but the trash/Trump had to be taken out. He was rotten.

The media should be very cynical towards every presidential administration. They have certainly treated Trump aggressively, but to his credit Trump has parried with the media almost on a daily basis. He has not dodged their questions. You can hate Trump, love him or be ambivalent towards him, but you have to acknowledge Trump has not been shielded from the media.
The term "handled with kid gloves" is not strong enough to describe the media's access to Biden nor the questions allowed. Sooner or later Biden is going to have to take on tough questions on a regular basis.I think that is not an unreasonable expectation of him nor of any elected official.

He answered a lot of questions. Believe me, I didn't always like the answers either. Like any politician, and he actually is one despite his claims to the contrary, he has dodged questions, lied and blurred his answers, but he has been available on an almost unprecedented scale. In my opinion, he needed to talk less, a lot less. Biden's access has been very controlled, far too controlled.

I don't find lies admirable in anyone. My point is Trump has been aggressively questioned which is the job of the media. No, I do not consider Twitter to be a valid exchange between the media and the President. I hate Twitter. I think it is a juvenile way for this or any President to communicate. I agree that Trump has been controversial and combative many times when he would have been better served to be quiet. He has not been presidential. However, I do not think the media during the run up to the election or after has been granted the access typical of a major party candidate by President-elect Biden. I do believe the media as a whole has been very easy on Biden.
I may have missed it, but when has Biden fielded a difficult aggressive questioner in the last several months? If so, when? If not, why not? I have a softball question. Why did he say Hunter Biden is the smartest man he knows? Was that hyperbole? Was that a proud father speaking? Is he actually serious?
I wish Biden well. We all win if he does a good job. However, he should face the scrutiny of the media on a regular basis, free of handlers.
