Trapp handling ball for long stretches of time

When you know the opponent needs to foul is hard to explain.

^^^ This. I cannot understand why a 44% FT shooter is in at the end when they are fouling every time we have the ball. His defense ain't that good of a trade off.

Trapp is streaky, though his presence is needed on court. I believe he's a clutch player and gets the job done when needed. If you asked the coaches how we beat unc, duke and those couple weeks ago. They point at Trapp

Trapp made a few of those at the end. It is a mental game with him right now and the only way to get over it is keep putting him at the line. Safer to do it now with a double digit lead and only a few minutes to play then later in a much closer game. I like having him with the ball and letting him work through it today with a little margin for error. Dawes came up huge at the line though.

He was 3-5 on free throws today.

He certainly didn’t hurt us.

As PurpleTiger said, he needs to get his confidence up at the line and the best way to do that is to put him in these situations. It was a brilliant coaching move to do so, as we were up by double figures but they were still important free throws.
