Tragedy at Hartsville FB game

Ronald Rouse, a senior defensive end for the Hartsville Red Foxes, collapsed on the sideline during a game against Crestwood tonight and later died.

With 3:39 to play in the first half, the 6-foot-3, 320-pound Rouse was in on a tackle and stayed down on the field following the play. Team officials went on to the field to assist Rouse, who eventually got to his feet and walked to the sideline where he collapsed.

An EMS crew worked on Rouse on the sideline and could be seen working on him in the ambulance before it departed for the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Being there in person, this is something you can't believe. Please keep the family and the players in your prayers. My son who is on the Hartsville JV team is having a tough time right now. GOD bless you Ronald Rouse #74.
