and 1st time in it’s history to not start in July, but late August.

Started 7 days ago in Nice & of course finishes weeks later in Paris on a Sunday.

Fans are limited to 5000 per large area or township and must wear masks.

big mountain the other day and maybe half the fans roadside were wearing masks. Even ones running beside riders yelling were mask-free. I am not sure that the race will make it all the way to Paris. Only has to make it 10 stages they said to have a official winner. I expect teams to play their hands earlier than normal to be where they want to be after stage 10 and not waiting until the mountains on the back-end of the race. That may have been partly behind the push that went on today on a flat stage.

Yeah there have been complaints about people not wearing masks. Not sure how you enforce it though.

I was surprised to see this posted on here just because I don't think of the United States as having a large bicycle racing following. I have enjoyed watching the Tour for many years now and was super excited to actually be able to watch a Tour event in person this March but it was canceled due to Covid.

This years Tour has been different, A couple of the big names not on teams and Sagan usually has the Green Jersey just about locked up by now. He definitely doesn't seem to be as strong as he usually is (or everyone else has gotten stronger). That Stage 7 attack by his team yesterday to get Bennett off the pack was a thing of beauty.

I have been a road cyclists for decades. My first road bike was in 1973 when I got a yellow Schwinn Super Sport when I was in the 8th grade, it was a 10 speed. I rode from Sumter to Manning to spend the weekend with my grandparents several times, this was way before cycling was a thing, especially long rides and the ride to Manning was considered long back then even though it is only a 20 mile ride. By the way Manning had some hotties! It was neat to visit another town with a fresh crop of "talent". <img border=">. I still ride today and put up 20 miles most rides. I have zero problems with my knees today since I ride instead of running.

Here is a cool link to the world record bike speed holder. She is drafting at over 180 MPH!
