Took my son to his first Clemson basketball game

Jan 29, 2020, 11:30 AM

last night. The crowd was decent for a Tuesday night game and the Tigers never gave up. My son was super excited and it was a great game!
I just want to know where the h### all these Syracuse fans came from? You should’ve seen all the Syracuse sweatshirts and sweaters in the Esso last night. We moved seats after halftime, because we’d been sitting behind some obnoxious Orangemen. Then ended up sitting beside some more of them!!

Never had any trouble with Cuse fans until...

the football game in the Dome this past season.

Sat behind the family of QB Tommy DeVito.

Holy cow !!!

They ranked right up there with Georgia fans as being some of the most drunken, obnoxious, repugnant and foul-mouthed people I have ever encountered at a college football game. One in particular but they were all pretty bad.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Was uncle Danny there?

They are terrible. When Clemson played them in the NIT a few years back, they were vulgar and obnoxious(that New York accent!). Worst I've seen in Littlejohn.

Last night, I thought they out numbered Clemson fans. How are they so loud?

I hope they all went to Denny's after the game to see Boeheim.

They have been a perennial basketball program and that’s what it looks like. Just like Clemson in football, this is what a basketball school does. This is where Clemson fans have no understanding of what that means. I have to agree that it’s darn irritating to have that many opposing fans in Our arena.

I wish I didn’t work nights or I’d be there every week. Sux

You just said like we do in football - so we DO have an understanding of what that means. (I wanna type in MORAN right here but I won't because Clemson Family and all)

Give us SOME KINDA product that is worth supporting and Clemson Family has SHOWN, beyond a shadow of doubt, that we will support basketball.

I was THERE when LJ was packed to the rafters and the place was merciless on opposing teams.

No reason we won't & can't do it again.

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

We are 5-2 in our last 7. Where the fans at? Death Valley was packed out when we won 6 to 9 games a year.

Packed out? Only for USUC and FSU. I think someone has selective memory.

Tigers beat Duke, NC State, Wake, UNC and Syracuse in the last few weeks. What more would you like?

Maybe beat teams we are supposed to the majority of the time , so many time in his tenure we play well in stretches anD look back at a few head scratching losses that keep us out the tourney... I think that’s the biggest issue, majority of Clemson fans would be happy with tourney appearances and an occasional run like the sweet 16 run. But we have just been really inconsistent ... I don’t think we are that far off from what would make most happy just win those games we should be winning early on

I hear ya - many yanks are obnoxious. But most importantly, enjoy your time with your little man. By the time he’s 14-15, he will have moved on and won’t care about hanging with the old man.
