True. Nixon was not impeached. After the House Committee on the Judiciary passed articles of impeachment Nixon was advised that he did not have sufficient support to avoid impeachment by the House and conviction by the Senate. He then resigned before a vote on impeachment by the full House of Representatives was taken. That is why the "if you count Nixon."

Good thing the House is focused and acting on things that are important to the American people.

It’s amazing.

Trump started throwing his little temper tantrum 2.5 months ago...and NOW we're focused on policy and action?

Nice.

It’s amazing and a fun time to be alive. But I like chaos so there’s that.

We’re seeing stuff even really old people couldn’t match . All we need now is another War with some 3rd world country ( this will happen now that Trumps gone) to keep the Pro War crowd in Washington happy. I think their a little pizzed that Trump never used that Red Button the Democrats told us he would use.

Also needing $4 gas and interest rates above 6% and a tank in the stock market. Legalize all drugs, illegal aliens , and 09’ unemployment rates!

Also wouldn’t mind 4 more National Championships !

Communists taking over the government...

I have a question. Trump was impeached by the House, but

Jan 14, 2021, 8:40 AM

the impeachment was not tried by the Senate.

Was he really impeached?

I thought the Constitution says the House recommends articles of impeachment to the Senate and then the Senate tries the case to decide whether to impeach or not.

It's convenient to say he was impeached, but he was not impeached. The House recommended impeachment. There is a difference.

After some thought, I'm not sure what the appropriate disclaimer should be if you say President Trump was impeached. Do you say he was impeached by the House but not tried by the Senate, or do you say he was half-assed impeached?

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don’t know

Jan 14, 2021, 12:38 PM

It was my understanding that someone brings articles to the house
They vote to impeach or not and then the Senate has the trial and removal from office if found guilty

I feel like they’ve said that is being impeached, but not removed. Apparently no president has been removed from office

I like your thinking and have no idea what the right answer is supposed to be

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think its sad that if we disagree politically the next

Jan 14, 2021, 1:23 PM [ in reply to I have a question. Trump was impeached by the House, but ]

course of action is just get rid of the opposing view. Regardless of whether we have an legit reason or not. This is not how the forefathers intended us to use impeachment. Round about reasoning on both impeachment votes is a disgusting perversion of law and order. This is how other authoritarians run their gov't. Wonder why we're implementing it to ours?

More Nattys to come! Also more impeachments to come

Trump's crime was winning in 2016 and 2020 and now in 2022(House and Senate) and 2024.
