who will be calling the CFP Championship game next Monday night in New Orleans?

Thankfully, it will not be officials from the B1G.

Pac-12 referees will be calling the game.

Not sure if this is good news though considering Pac-12 referees have made a number of mistakes this season, including a critical mistake between Washington State and California that resulted in a referee being suspended. The Pac-12 also received criticism for an inexcusable mistake that cost Ole Miss a chance at sending the game against Cal to overtime.

Thanks for that as I wondering the same. My guess is the B1G officials would be more mad at the SEC as their officials made the calls than Clemson who may have benefited from them so it really doesn’t matter. They all make mistakes.

And I think the SEC officials got it right. The argument that it was inconclusive and you can’t overturn the call is valid but but the only reason they ruled it a catch fumble on the field was to be safe and allow for replay
