NFL is being supplied with many "me first" players. No wonder it is failing. The team concept is vanishing right before our eyes. Hope is doesn't destroy college sports, but it probably has already begun.

I didn't realize the NFL was failing.***

And how long have you been under that rock?

I don't think failing means what you think it means***

Why would they do this though? Opting out gives NFL scouts fewer chances to see them play. A lot can happen in even just one game. I’m convinced the only reason Thad Moss, slowest TE ever, got a chance in the NFL is because Burrow spoonfed him 2 TD’s in National Chamiponship game.

I think a bigger issue may be where kids on bad teams begin to grow tired of the Covid restrictions. I can see some teams with losing records late in the year starting to have outbreaks. It’s easy to stay disciplined when you think you have something to play for.

This is true too. My 2 kids are in their mid/late 20s. They moved from California, one to TN one to TX... much of that is because they’re still completely shut down over there. Poor kid hasn’t seen most of his friends in 6 months. They just won’t do it.

If my kids in their 20s can’t deal with it, you can bet these kids who want the college experience aren’t going to last very long.

Are you talking only NFL-caliber players?

Aug 30, 2020, 6:31 PM

About 3.8% of college players are drafted by the NFL and about 1.6% make a team. Not many. Or are you talking about the other 96% -- most of whom need their football scholarship to attend school?
