The last Clemson basketball coach to beat UNC twice in a row

was Bill Foster.

Brownell has beaten UNC 3 of the last 4 games including AT UNC.

Should Brownell be awarded a lifetime Clemson basketball contract?? He's already on year 11. What's 20 more years?

That being said, only Foster has a slightly better overall winning % but had a lot worse conference winning %. Brownell is the *best* in conference thus far that we have had.

I say we keep him until there is a time whereby we return to Shyatt-level of sub .500 play

Not that I don’t love beating UNC (my wife went there)- but these past couple of UNC teams have been their worst in 30-40 years.
I will take every one we get and proud to get it, but all wins are not equal. When Bill Foster was coaching, the ACC was a beast.

Its not how good CU is. It is how bad UNC has become. Even the same with Duke. They use to betop 5 every season.

Not true, UNC and Duke do slip to mid-table or lower every so often. Coach K has a sinker of a season every so often. 2006/7 or 1995/6.

Roy has a similar pattern. A few even worse seasons every 10 years 09/10 & 19/20. Toss in those unmentioned years for UNC and 01/02 and it is the same story.

The difference was even when they slipped, we were not a consistent enough of a program. Take 95/96 for example. Even with Rick Barnes, etc we finished behind Duke having one of our better years and them having their worst. Again, same story with 06/07. We won 25 games that year, finished behind 8-8 Duke witha 7-9 record. Didn't even get an NCAA bid that year (lost NIT finals)...
