The President has explicitly called for a ceasing of violence

Jan 13, 2021, 3:59 PM

That is, of course, fine, but to me, it misses the point. There wasn’t violence because the President asked for violence, or failed to ask for peace.

To help the nation, what the President needs to do is unequivocally admit that he did indeed lose the election fairly, and admit he has been wrong about it. That will get at the root cause of the division and subsequent violence.

That's the one thing Trump should do at this point, but he never will.

This is the natural consequence of electing the person who never admitted that the last president was born in this country.

Falsehood flies, and truth comes limping after it, so that when men come to be undeceived, it is too late; the jest is over, and the tale hath had its effect: like a man, who hath thought of a good repartee when the discourse is changed, or the company parted; or like a physician, who hath found out an infallible medicine, after the patient is dead.
- Jonathan Swift

IDK, if he did that, it would just give birth to more

Nope. He shouldn't do that at all. I send him your concerns though.

His base wouldn't believe it if he said it.

They thought his "peaceful transfer of power" speech was a deep fake video.

I still kinda think that it was too.***
