Any team that signs him needs to go broke.....for being just plain stupid.......but no NFL team would touch him with a 10 foot poll because he just sucks as a QB......Go Tigers!!!!!!

Nov 16, 2019, 9:45 PM [ in reply to Re: The “Kaepernick Workout” is a huge story for this critical reason: ]

if the government were keeping him out I'd agree, but he is just an employee (was) who, in a rather unilateral manner, took it upon himself to express a very unpopular (not to mention uninformed) position in a very public way and did so in the context of his employment. this means he is an idiot and oblivious to the distinction between himself as an individual and as an employee. so, I hope he winds up suffering enough to publicly and repeatedly announce that he was wrong to have done what he did in the manner he did it. if you are not aware, our first amendment rights are not absolute.

he can still voice his boneheaded opinion. but we all know if he really cared about how people are/were treated he would have raised all kinds of hell about how Nike produces much of its inventory.

Re: The “Kaepernick Workout” is a huge story for this critical reason:

Nov 16, 2019, 10:02 PM

His workplace (the NFL) didn’t fire him. He was blackballed out of the league because nobody wanted the negative press. So apparently they (the NFL) thought he had the right to do it.

So what you’re saying is you can’t protest one thing if you don’t protest everything? Kaepernick’s protest was in response to the repeated lack of accountability amongst law enforcement in THIS COUNTRY which is represented by the flag he was being asked by his employee to salute.

I guess Dabo and our athletic department should be ashamed as well for choosing Nike as our sponsor.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: The “Kaepernick Workout” is a huge story for this critical reason:

Nov 17, 2019, 1:38 AM

Why do you think that he was blackballed and they didn't get rid of all the other kneelers? He was a mediocre quarterback with a bad attitude. Early after San Francisco let him go a couple of other teams were interested but he wanted more money than they thought he was worth. You act like he was a starting quarterback on a playoff team. San Francisco had benched him before the protests started so don't go crying that he was only the backup because he was kneeling.

He was a heck of an athlete, with a heck of an arm, that couldn't adjust once teams had film and were game planning for him. He wanted to continue to act like he was still a star and dictate terms like he did today. When you are riding the pine, you shouldn't expect to tell everybody else what to do.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: The “Kaepernick Workout” is a huge story for this critical reason:

Nov 17, 2019, 8:22 AM

That’s a fair opinion. I think he was plenty good enough to remain a backup but teams didn’t want the hassle.

Point is the NFL didn’t fire him. The poster I responded to made it seem like that was the case. Everybody says it was about him protesting in the work place but he was not punished by his employer for doing so and players are still allowed to do so.

So the moral of the story is that if you are about to get cut from an NFL team, do something really stupid, uninformed, disrespectful, and unpatriotic and then try and blackmail the league for black balling you. Got it!

If he was good he would have been hired!!! Look at Vick! Among a lot of unforgivable pet owners, he still made it back after some horrendous discoveries and jail time!!! If Kapernik(sp) was worth a crap he would have had a contract long ago. But add in his drama queen persona, he is not hireable. He needs to go away! Use his notariety to do something good instead of wearing Pro Fidel Castro t-shirts! He is an attention #####!

I wasted more time typing this than he is worth! Wish he would go away for ever, worthless!

If he was looking for career redemption, he wouldn’t have childishly sabotaged his own silver spoon treatment today. They were gonna wipe his butt with silk and thank him for the opportunity, but he chose to go take a dump on his own front steps. Foolish and juvenile.

Re: The “Kaepernick Workout” is a huge story for this critical reason:

Nov 17, 2019, 5:45 AM

Pretty much.

All he had to do was show he could get along.

Instead he proved - once again - he was going to upstage those extending an olive branch to him and slapped it away, and tried to unilaterally take control of the message.

That's Kaepernick in a nutshell: he comes across, ultimately, as far less principled than narcissistic.

He has the skills to be an NFL QB. Probably not a starter at this juncture, but a roster guy. The difficulty is a roster guy has to be willing to be a team guy first and this kind of show graphically illustrates that he isn't anything resembling that, and that's ultimately why NFL teams won't roster him. Not because they're overly worried about his politics - honestly, controversy sells tickets and in the words of Vegas, "there is no bad publicity", but because he'd be a constant distraction and disruption for whatever team he's on.

He made a complete #### of himself today

Nov 16, 2019, 9:30 PM

He has no desire to QB again, turned it in to a circus so the media could cover it. 25 teams showed up. 8 followed an hour down the road to the high school he decided to work out at right before the originally scheduled "audition." Thw only way a team signs him is if it's a team tanking and they take one for the league to finally shut him up. He is about himself only

Re: How many of these comments/posts are from Caucasian males?

I sure am, but I’m not sure why that’s material to the fact that a Marxist sympathizer who openly channeled his platform into victim culture profligation, race baiting, and anti-American grandstanding couldn’t comply with the loose parameters of the most politically and professionally generous gesture I’ve ever heard of. The man was basically given his whole platform back, along with the potential to re-access a multi-million dollar professional pursuit, and he bit the hand that was feeding him.

I’m white and Kaepernick is dumb. That about reconciles everything.

Re: How many of these comments/posts are from Caucasian males?

Nov 17, 2019, 8:09 AM [ in reply to How many of these comments/posts are from Caucasian males? ]

Since you want to make the debate about race, I am white and will compare him to another white guy. Johnny Manzeil probably has NFL talent. Like Kapernick, he has enough to be on a roster, but he can't handle not being the center of attention. I understand that Manziel is a distraction for other reasons, but it is irrelevant why. Teams do not want a backup QB that is a distraction from the focus of winning ballgames.

His people got what they wanted. Public attention for Colin K. At this point he is not an athlete but a celebrity. To remain a celebrity, you have to be in the public eye. He certainly was this week. If he really wanted to play football, he would have showed up: where he was supposed to, when he was supposed to.

He was never going to play for what NFL teams were willing to pay him. If you want an overpriced back-up, get Cam Newton from the Panthers. Kap was never going to play for Matt Moore type money.
