That was a big deal when the ABC regional broadcast came to town back then.

My senior year and I remember what a big deal it was to have the game on TV. I am pretty sure it was the only one during my four years on campus. My how things have changed. For that game students were encouraged to wear orange. Before then many dressed up to go to the games.

as far as I ever knew was the first game televised from DV. I just remember all the excitement around the campus when the TV trucks showed up that week at DV and started running cables, etc. all over the place (no wireless back in those days).

You would have thought the National Championship game was about to be played instead of a regional telecast which it was. I was upstairs above the loggia when it came on at Noon and seeing DV and the campus on TV was unbelievable - made everybody feel like we were in the "big time." Then I went on down to the stadium in time for the 1 pm kickoff.
