I liked his speech up until the words after "brotherhood"

Brownell teaches defense. The NBA types despise defense. They just want the rock***

At least it wasn’t uncheat. Maybe he will have to go to class, well for about 8 months.

Re: 8 months?

Jan 20, 2018, 8:41 PM

Shoot he only has to go to class August through December, once he becomes eligible for the second semester he can quit going.

Overall though he seems like a nice kid from a good family, hopefully he reaches his full potential and his dreams of playing in the NBA are fulfilled.

At Clemson he could have been a legend. At Duke another one and done cog. zion who?

Well at least he won't have to hear Coach K's profanity laced tirades but for one year!

Taking the time to recruit you

Jan 20, 2018, 8:40 PM

More like a waste of time. Could have just finalized this back in Early period.

Re: Taking the time to recruit you

Yes, he took a lot of people for a ride. Tough to turn your back on your home state. But 18 year olds are 10 feet tall and invicible. Guess Dabo didn't get in on the recruiting enough!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

His home state is NC. Don't be fooled. And he's already a scholarship athlete at Spartanburg Day.***

Actually he grew up about 5 miles from me in Marion, S.C. He went there until he got to high school.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He was born in Salisbury, NC. Read Wikipedia. You can do it.***

May be the case but he has spent 16 years of his 18 year life in SC. The majority of that 16 in Marion. Doubt he calls North Carolina home there pal. I know the kid buddy, Wikipedia doesn’t.

I just love how everyone turns into “Negative Nancy” anytime our Tigers don’t land a prized recruit. Real mature people on Tigernet...he’s just a kid that has the right to play anywhere he wants. Good luck to him I hope he’s a great success. Y’all need to grow up!

Didn’t hear any CU Fans complaining when Jackson Carmen did the same thing and left Ohio. I’m sure he probably knew it was Duke all along

Time to move on

best of luck to him, but...

No need to dwell on this.

Jerk. He and coach K deserve each other. Disgraces to the concept of student athlete and what attending colleges is all about. These kids just take a spot that a real student could have had. So much for Duke being a prestigious academic college.

What, exactly, makes this a story for TigerNet?

Jan 21, 2018, 10:03 AM

This is a high school kid who chose a non-Clemson school.

Another reason Brownell should have been fired years

Jan 21, 2018, 11:22 AM

ago, can't pull in big recruits, can't keep in state talent from leaving. Spend the $$ and go get someone like Greg Marshall, otherwise Clemson BBall will always be a second rate, lower tier mid major program.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Well he had the chance to for CU BBall what CJ Spiller was

Jan 21, 2018, 7:45 PM

for CU Football. Only it would have been even MORE of a bigger deal in BBall given that one player makes a much bigger difference than in football. Too bad for Brownell and Clemson BBall that didn't happen this cycle. Duke will have a wealth of riches. Not good for Brownell.

way to shock the world. I cant believe a 5 star recruit chose Duke, what a gigantic gamble on his part. Why he pretended Clemson was in the mix we'll never know. I gues there is some allure to one and done tournament play

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up
