Swinney says Clemson is special, making it hard for coaches to leave

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney loves it when he sees other programs pursue his coaches and support staff because he knows that’s because other teams want a small part of the special things that are happening in Tigertown. Full Story »

Coach Dabo and our program not just developing players...

but coaches. What an opportunity it would be to be involved in this program.

I wonder how many opportunities there have been for Caldwell. Poor record of putting guys in NFL. What's the reason ???

If he is still on Dabo’s staff he must be doing a good job. Never heard any complaints except from disgruntled fans.

Was there a sincere interest from Auburn and BV?

Feb 14, 2021, 7:32 PM

Because I don't really remember anything beyond a murmur of being mentioned? I never once read anything that gave me the slightest anxiety around the possibility of BV being HC at Auburn. Did I miss it or did it pass as quickly as was mentioned?

TE and Tenn was really the only traction I recall of the coordinator roles. I knew several guys left with Terry and I figure any coach like Jeff Scott will be recruiting Clemson staff for needed roles.

There actually was quite a bit of interest in Venables from Auburn. There was not much reciprocal interest from Venables to Auburn. Most coaches know that Auburn is “potentially “ a great job, but the fan-base is extremely impatient & their VIP alumni donors with deep pockets have too much power in the decision making on coaching hiring and, especially, firings! They expect Alabama-like results ALL THE TIME when they typically don’t measure up. Auburn is not a stable environment compared to Clemson.

There is something in these hills.

I wouldn't include Napier and Steele in those lists.

They were involuntary turnover.
