So the NFL has it's 1st firing, who will be the 1st to go at

the FBS level?

Taggert? I think he gets 1 more year.
Malzahn? if they lose to UGA, LSU, "Bama, and Tex.A&M probably, I feel he has to win 2 of those.
Sumlin? Arizona is playing better with a healthy Tate, but is the team better?
Chad Morris? restless fanbase but probably 1 more year.
Chip Kelly? Already 5 losses, he may be done.

I don't know if it will happen mid-season, but Charlie Strong is 100% done at USF. Clay Helton is done at USC, but i think they will let him coach out the season.

Other notables:

Jeremy Pruitt - If Tennesee goes 0-8 or 1-7 in the SEC he might be done already, but i think he probably gets at last one more year since Fulmer hired him after pulling the coup to take over as AD.

Lovie Smith - Pretty good chance Illinois fires him at the end of the year.

Justin Fuente - Beating Miami helped his cause, but that program is going downhill quickly. They need to show signs of improvement his year or Fuente is going to get shown the door. Bud Foster is also retiring at the end of the year so it would be an opportunity for VT to start with a totally clean slate.

Chip Kelly - I think he gets at least one more year. UCLA is terrible, but they were going to be terrible for a year or two regardless of who they hired. I don't think you hire Chip Kelly and fire him after 2 seasons.

Taggart - I'm pretty confident he's going to get one more year at FSU.

The Chad - He probably gets 1 more year, but Arkansas is really, really bad.

Muschamp - He will probably survive another year since the standards are so low at USC, but the fans are definitely beginning to turn on him this year.

All of those will be coaching at their current schools next year.

Give the wheel of misery another spin.

only real possibility in your bunch is Kelly. I think he is long gone.

Auburn already beat Texas A&M meaning A&M would only need 1 more on your list.

Also someone mentioned Fuente, but my guess is that Foster retiring means Fuente gets to sell the idea of getting to bring in a new DC and start fresh to rebuild on that side of the ball.

OOPS, guess I needed to research a little more or at all. Pruitt is done I think, Smith is in a who cares situation.

Pruitt is an interesting case because I would typically guess he would get another year, but his off the field issues with players may accelerate the process.

Depends on their buyout money, some of those teams will have to endure one more year with their current coaches because the buyout is too high.
