So Auburn hired Mason as DC and Bobo as OC

Jan 8, 2021, 9:46 AM

Are they wanting to forever be Bamas red headed stepchild?!!! Horrible hires! Its like they aren't even trying to be competitive.

Remember, Saban will not be at Bama that much longer.

Bama was mediocre for awhile with several different coaches just before his arrival. By far, there is no guarantee they will continue to be great once he is gone.

Unless they do somehow convince Dabo to leave us for them.

I think they'll have to carry his dead body out of there.

He enjoys it too much to retire.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

I think the unhappy face looks a little happier than the happy face.

They bring in a head coach from the West but the SEC just always keeps recycling the same old coordinators and position coaches. Go Figure.

That's SEC Recycling Speed. Much faster than recycling in

any other conference. :)

I agree on Bobo but I think Mason was a good DC at Stanford. With the type of recruiting Auburn can do he’ll have the jimmy and joes to do a good job.

Derek Mason could be a good DC

I have no idea why Mike Bobo is getting that OC gig though. Auburn fans just spent the last 6 seasons watching putrid offenses, and that does not appear to be changing anytime next year.

It really is kind of amazing how quickly Malzahn went from being this offensive savant to not being able to field even a competent offense. If it weren't for the great defenses they had under Steele he probably would've gotten fired several years ago.

Outside of one Scam Newton, who was the QB with Mallzone

Jan 8, 2021, 8:14 PM

as OC in 2010, Mallzone never had a competent trigger man to run his offense. That was always the major puzzlement to me. You would think if he was truly this offensive savant, way ahead of the curve, there would have been dual threat guys just lining up to play for him. It never happened. Instead you got a line of Bo Nix'es.
