Selective amnesia at it's peak

Nov 19, 2019, 7:58 PM

You hear about Oregon losing to Auburn and how that hurts them worse and worse each time Auburn loses

but

Georgia loses to SC and not a memory of it even though SC will not be going bowling this year

No no no! Silly! An SEC loss counts as a win

Nov 19, 2019, 8:00 PM

They're really not kidding when they say "It just means more"

since our win at UNC was deemed a loss at one point

Well, UGA beat multiple teams currently ranked in top 25 while Oregon hasn’t beaten any. Additionally, If you actually look at the UGA/Scar game you will see that Scar was lucky to win that game and UGA wasn’t dominated. Much like Syracuse and Pitt beating the Tigers.

Oregon still didn't lose At home to a sub .500 team. I don't care if they "should have won" they didn't. During a by gone era before the era of "everybody gets a trophy" they would be out anyway. I hope they get in so they can hear the same non-sense Notre Dame did all off season! The argument will be loud and clear from the West Coast if Georgia gets in.

They won't - they will get beaten by LSU.

"Scar was lucky to win that game". So they were lucky to be playing their 3rd string QB?

No, obviously not. But if you look past the final score and dive into the stats and flow of the game you'll see that UGA wasn't dominated. If they play that same exact game 10 times UGA probably comes out on top 9 of them.

UGA - total yards - 468
SCAR - 297

UGA - first downs - 30
SCAR - 16

UGA - possession - 36:04
Scar - 23:56

UGA turned the ball of 4 times, including a pick 6, a fumble on SC 30, interception on SC 44, and interception on SC 21 in OT.

If UGA was dominated by SCAR for 4 quarters and lost by a few scores the loss would carry a lot more weight. However, UGA dominated most of the game so the it's easy to see the committee putting much less weight on this loss.

The purpose of playing the games is to win.

If you don't win, you lose. Losses should count.

Go Tigers!!!

Auburn’s losses hurt teams they have beaten

Nov 19, 2019, 8:08 PM

But have no impact on Auburn themselves...and HELP the teams who have beaten them.
