Savannah, GA

Jun 15, 2018, 11:43 AM

Fiancé and I are in Savannah for my 30th. We’ve never been before. We’re in line for Mrs. Wilkes dining as we speak. Any must do’s/sees or recommendations??

Crystal Beer Parlor has pretty good food. It's several blocks from the Downtown/Historic district. You can walk it but once you get a couple of blocks outside the Historic area things quickly get sketchy. If you go, consider Uber or driving.

The Low Country Spring Roll at Pirate House is one of the best things I have ever put in my mouth!

if near Isle of Hope, go see Wormslow - and then drive down Bluff Dr near the marina.

If you can find a way to see the Savannah Bananas, that is a sho-nuff fun time. Most games sold out early on, so you may have a tough time with this one.

Anything near downtown, City Market, etc... Most bars in that area will have free music. The Warehouse on River street usually has good live tunes.

Summer time, and a lot of recent rain. Go see the parks. Forsyth, of course, but many more look great right now.

Have fun!

it's a little out of the way and not frequented by tourists but the best seafood in savannah, imo, is pearl's saltwater grille.

For a night out Savannah Smiles on Williamson Street is a hoot...especially if
you've had a few .

Food....Sorry Charlies is pretty good...The Dockside...Cotton Exchange...Planter's Tavern

Olde Pink House too.

Funky Brunch Café is very good for breakfast.

Shopping...Broughton Street....stop off at the Honey Shop and do a Mead Tasting

Leopold's Ice Cream is a must .

Agree on Olde Pink House. Basement is very cool but whole place is great.

I think Pirate's House is a tourist trap with awful food. Perhaps that's just me.

For a newer, less formal restaurant, I love Treylor Park on East Bay near Drayton St.

Agree also on Leopold's Ice Cream.

I agree about Pirate's House, except for that Low Country Spring Roll. Get that, and move on.

Best possible way to see the city: with a local on foot. Don't bother with bus/trolley tours.

Hope you enjoyed Mrs. Wilkes. Agree with the Pink House. Check out "The Grove" in City Market. Yes to Leopold's ice cream.

What do you and the fiancee enjoy?
