Not to beat a dead horse, but rewatched the NC game

Jan 15, 2016, 8:54 PM

And on the onside kick the Bama kicker pooched the ball in the air straight off the tee and caught by another Bama player. When we did this vs Coots it was a penalty because the ball never contacted the ground. What was the difference??? It looked like the exact same play???

SC player called for a fair catch

Jan 15, 2016, 8:56 PM

Rule requires that player must be given opportunity to catch the ball.

Not being a smart ### just wish you would scroll down and read posts before making a new one on the same topic as a dozen or more others. Guess we are an immediate response kind of culture these days, so I'm sorry for being a smartass, kinda thought you were being one first

Jan 15, 2016, 9:05 PM [ in reply to SC player called for a fair catch ]

the ball, even though he couldn't get there, would the Bama guy have been required to let it hit the ground?

the SCAR player was in the area. None of our guys were in the area. If someone is in the area, you have to give him room to catch it, just like a punt.

I'd would say from now on as soon as the ball is kicked the whole raises their hands!
That would fixed that.
And for kick offs, we should just onside kick everytime. Worst thing could happen is the big guys up front might get it

Right. Brilliant. Then the ball is kicked to th 5-10 yard line and we can't advance because we called a fair catch.

It is no longer recognizable as a dead horse, rather a dead battered pile of hair and goo. Nothing horse about it anymore.
