Rumor from Bama

Dec 14, 2019, 11:55 AM

Is Auburn's DC looking to bolt after new OC has been hired ? LOL

What?!!! Steele leaving a job? That'd be new.

Dec 14, 2019, 12:00 PM

I believe he had 12 jobs in 15 years at one point.

Steele should count his blessings. They are paying him $1.9M per year.

In retrospect, talking a beating from WV was worth it in order to get Brent Venables.

Could we have won 5 ACCCG'S and played in 4 playoff games, and won 2 out of 3 NC with Steele as our DC, I absolutely believe that the answer is NO, not just plain No but, HFN!!!

Maybe, but he was very, very bad here at Clemson.

I've never seen a defense so confused, undisciplined, and lost.

fortunate to get a pay check which is far from the truth. For whatever reason he's been a great fit at Auburn and they've consistently fielded top 10 defenses under him there.

For me, Kevin Steele will always be the Baylor coach who tried to score a touchdown with 30 seconds left instead of having his QB knee down. The other team returned a fumble 100 yards and Baylor lost.

Afterwards, he was defiant and said he would do the same thing again.

That was the end of Kevin Steele's chances of every being a head coach again.

for me he will be the coach

that was responsible for our worst asswhooping ever

My absolute most vivid memory of Kevin Steele is the 70-33 beat down we received from WV bc Kevin Steele did not have our defence prepared to stop the WV spread offence, and we suffer the biggest loss in NCAA bowl history of any bowl game!!! I think that maybe if Dabo hadn't fired Steele at the end, we could have had the biggest fan rebellion in the history of Clemson FB other than the Danny Ford firing!!! That was also the game that branded us with the tag of Clemson-ing that took years for our FB program to live down. And personally, I was hoping that Steele wouldn't have ever worked in the ranks of college FB ever again, and I still wish that his of end for coaching college FB will be at the end of his present job. And if we were going to be tagged with a label, it should have been Kevin-ing that can't Steal a defensive stop!!!!

Not the biggest bowl loss ever, but tied for the most points given up.

Biggest loss even was Army over Houston in 2018. (70-14)

Don’t claim a dubious record for a Clemson inaccurately.

Well he coaches in the SEC so that should qualify him as one of the very best coaches in college football. Just ask anybody at ESPN. Maybe Ray Tanner can hire him to replace Muskrat after they go 2-10 next season.

LOL @ Steele

Dec 14, 2019, 1:45 PM

He was very vocal about not liking Chad Morris's offense while the DC at Clemson.

He has done well at Auburn with top notch talent against vanilla SEC offenses.

Clemson doesn't care about basketball....as evidenced by Brown-L getting 14 years.

They don't play WV!!!
