Ray Lewis just basically called Vic soft

Sep 14, 2015, 6:23 PM

Basically said Vic turn down contact on Todd Gurley. I don't like Ray anymore. I guess he forgot about all that production and that such player helped a team to the have the number 1 defense last year.

Ray killed a dude. So...***

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yeah Ray never seemed to mind contact, even off the field.**

How this just went away for Ray. No one mentions it anymore, nor have they for over a decade. Maybe he did it - maybe he didn't. Either way he was there when it happened

I don't condone killing but I do believe in second chances...ppl make mistakes everyday, big and small. The man is innocent by the courts so be it. I just ddon't understand how murder and the comments Ray made even go together. I'm for vic tho...wish him the best n Ray too

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

it was all brought back up during the Ravens Super Bowl season***

Re: Ray Lewis just basically called Vic soft

Sep 14, 2015, 6:25 PM

Everybody seems to sing Ray Lewis' praises but isn't he the guy years back that shot and killed somebody? I may be wrong but I think he was the guy and if he is, to heck with what he thinks!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He had two counts of murder against him for stabbings

Sep 14, 2015, 6:29 PM

And they got dropped in exchange for his testimony against two guys in his posse.

Also, he had a white suit he was wearing that night that mysteriously went missing that was never found.

He's a great guy.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

To be fair...

Sep 14, 2015, 6:32 PM

The guys that went down were supposedly no gems either. They messed with the wrong group. Moreover, Ray has been a pretty model citizen outside of that as far as NFL players go. Correct me if I am wrong..

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Double murder is a pretty hard thing to forgive.

Sep 14, 2015, 6:36 PM

Regardless of whether the two guys were model citizens or not.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Oh very true, but....

Sep 14, 2015, 6:44 PM

was it a double murder or was it self defense? That debate is still out there. All the details were so murky. It seems the NFL and ESPN don't really believe is a cold blooded killed. I agree though that there is no forgiving a standard double murder. I think we all agree there.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The fact that his suit went missing and he lied about being

Sep 14, 2015, 6:46 PM

at the scene kills any self-defense argument for me. If it was self-defense, there's no need to lie or get rid of evidence. Just shady. It's crazy how everyone just let it all go for him.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: The fact that his suit went missing and he lied about being

Sep 14, 2015, 7:04 PM

This could not be more wrong. Even if it is self-defense, if there's a body, there's going to be a trial.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Of course there is.

Sep 14, 2015, 7:08 PM

But if it's truly self-defense, there's ways to prove it. Taking that route is way less shady than disposing of evidence and lying about being there.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Of course there is.

Sep 14, 2015, 8:04 PM

Knock it off 6317. You know what you know from reading, someone's opinion, then formulating your own conclusion. Were you there? No...now ####. It's been 15 years...the court had its say...and here you are blasting away because he called Vic soft. Hey...it's his opinion. Is he going to check your background for indiscretions?

2024 orange level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The court didn't do anything. He never had a trial

Sep 14, 2015, 8:09 PM

He took a plea deal in exchange for testimony.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

prosecutors couldn't do anything because they had zero..

Sep 14, 2015, 8:18 PM

evidence. They just played hardball because Lewis initially refused to give any info on what he saw. Only thing he did wrong was obstruction of justice.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

There was no evidence because he got rid of it.***

Sep 14, 2015, 8:19 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

prove it then....

Sep 14, 2015, 9:04 PM

nothing you are stating is based on facts, just stuff that Ray Lewis haters have made up over the years. Link the news article stating the prosecution stated he got rid of evidence. Link the article where the prosecution charged him with throwing away evidence. Can you do that?

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

What is always forgotten in the Ray Lewis murder

Sep 14, 2015, 10:02 PM

and it hasn't been mentioned once here is Ray Lewis paid the family of the dead man a hefty hefty settlement. Now, I know when that is mentioned that it usually goes two ways.

1. For the rich and famous, it is easier to just make it go away.

2. Innocent men don't pay people off.

Tigernet breathren, you decide where you fall on that.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Paid the families of the dead men, not man.

That said, maybe he didn't want to take the chance of being convicted falsely due to the sketchy situation. I still don't know what really happened. Seems like most corporations don't see him as toxic, so that says something. It's not like he was OJ.

He seems like a good person. Of course it only takes a matter of seconds of bad judgement for a good person to do a terrible thing that will undo all good they have done and redefine them permanently. I think that happened the year they beat the NY football Giants in the Super Bowl. It's just odd how it just completely disappeared from the medias lips as if it never happened.

I will never understand how The Butcher of Buckhead even has a job. Much like Nicole Brown Simpson's murderer, the person who stabbed those folks to death in ATL is "still at large." I am sure Ray is "searching for the real killer(s)." He is a thug and a moron. Not qualified for sportscasting.

So you criticize him and get to watch him play the game you still want to play. It's sad, but that's part of life. You get too old, and the only thing you're good for is a sound bite. It's ok, Ray. You ONCE were great. Not anymore. Luckily you have "Tha U" Football Team to watch to make you feel better. Oh, wait...

Vic is smart, not soft.

Sep 14, 2015, 7:14 PM

He's had some opportunities to blow up guys with the ball, and instead he has used his athleticism to drag them down and/or strip the ball. At first I had the thought that he was playing soft, but if you think about it, he will probably have a longer career than most. Ask Clowney how tackling unnecessarily hard has worked out for him.
