Commanding Officer in Vietnam at the battle of La Drang(sp), and whom Mel Gibson portrayed in the movie 'We were Soldiers'! A true American Hero!

Session back when I was at 1st Infantry Division. Still have my signed copy of We Were Soldiers Once and Young. The man oozed charisma and credibility. He will be missed.

America has lost one of her great military leaders. As an explosive ordnance disposal officer I had the privilege to work with then LTC Hal Moore and the 1/7th Cav on several occasions, one of which was in the Ia Drang. He was without doubt the best military leader I served with during my 28 years active and reserve career.
