Questions regarding play calling

Jul 15, 2019, 8:48 AM

If Tavien Feaster ends up going to uofsuc, how hard will it be for our staff and players to change up the play signals that we send in each play? Feaster knows all of our plays. I know coaches will come up with different signals for the play calls, and I don't worry about our vets so much as the young guys. Also, do you think we will make the change for that game, only or go ahead and install it in August and begin using it all season?

PS I'm not at all worried about losing the game. uofsuc has to much of a talent gap with Clemson. I just hate to see the enemy benefit from learning from a former player.

Feaster can not read Trevor's mind.

I thought this was gonna be about the play calling in the spring game.
It was terrible. It was almost like we didn't care if we won or not.

I really think the whole "stealing play calls" idea is too often blown way out of proportion. Anyone who studies another team's film would know the play that's about to be run more often than not anyway. Most of the time the defense simply can't do what needs to be done to stop it.

If another team is focused on stealing play calls, all the offense would have to do is make a few minor adjustments on a couple plays and could burn them for TDs easily. The QB and WR would only need to communicate that they're going to throw deep instead of the short pattern on this one play....

It seems like they could just make one small change to the signals which would be easy for the QB to remember but make it very difficult for a former player to figure out.
