Something something whataboutism. Something something false equivalency. Now I'm going to put you on my list. I thought I would give you the abridged version

This isn't about whataboutism.

It's about a standard of political speech. Politicians have been speaking in terms of 'targeting, fighting, fighting back, forces,' and all the other language you guys are accusing Trump of using to incite the riot.
It's strong language but it's common on both sides. Whataboutism, is directing attention away from one misdeed by pointing at a previous misdeed. I'm not doing that, I'm pointing out that the standard for civility was gone long before Trump's speech.
I'm just asking for you hypocrites to examine the typical and tell me how Trump stepped outside what you accept as normal political speak. WTPh's wrong with you people!

It was about the 2 1/2 years of progressives claiming that Trump stole the 2016 election. Why was it ok then but it's so wrong now? Have you realized Trump is doing nothing that your party didn't do in the first couple years of his administration yet?

It was in May 2017, 6 months after the election, and roughly the point that all 14 US intelligence agencies came to the consensus that Russia had irrefutably interfered in the 2016 election. Nothing in that Pelosi tweet was inaccurate or inciteful.

CT88 insists that you prove all of his nonsense wrong. Just pointing out one false thing he says? That's way too easy.

Did Pelosi spend the entire year leading up to the election whipping people into a frenzy by claiming the election was going to be stolen? Recall that this was 2004, and Pelosi wasn't President, and no, to answer the above question, she didn't do that for a year prior to the election (or even mention it a single time). She also didn't claim AFTER the election that unprovable rampant voter fraud was the reason Kerry lost. Her commentary was focused on a specific state/event, and not the exact 7 states that Kerry lost that would give him enough Electoral votes to win if they were overturned.
You are too smart to be this easily duped. Stop making me reconsider this statement daily.

88,
When a member of the House objects to election results it means nothing. it is just a little bit of position taking for their constituents back home. Politicians understand this. The objection is noted and then dismissed.
When both a House member AND a Senator object, it is a whole other thing. It then becomes a serious event which requires both houses to convene separately and debate. Politicians know this, too.
The 124 Representatives and the 8 Senators (Republicans all) knew that they were raising serious objections about this election and our democracy - objections which were without any basis in evidence. They were acting in a far more significant and dangerous manner than was Pelosi. And they dammwell knew it, too. So did their colleagues.

Is CT88 praising Nancy Pelosi because he thinks she behaved the way he's behaving now?

Hillary didn't spend months vehemently tweeting about losing and throwing easily dismissed lawsuits around and whipping crowds into frenzies over losing, Obama didn't interfere with a peaceful transfer of power, and a mob of Democrats with Obama or Hillary flags certainly didn't attack the Capitol after losing, so I'm gonna have to call this a bit of a stretch.
I see your point but I'd wager the family of the murdered Capitol officer feels that the Republicans went a bit further than the Dems in a fight against a perceived unfair election.
