Announcers tend to exaggerate, but they said it would have been good from 70. It did have a lot of clearance over the horizontal bar and they might not have been exaggerating!

I don't care about a 60 yarder, unless it's to win a game, with 1 second left.
He just needs to avoid the shanks and be consistent on all kicks.

Agreed crawdad64. I was more nervous on the 1st FG attempt. Was watching with a few buds and promptly announced he would nail the 52 yarder. Two coots in the room called for a miss and I just turned, grinned, and raised by brew as it sailed through. Ahh, great days indeed!

Great field goals and very refreshing to see passes over the middle.

Other than some memorable plays to Tee and Etienne, the middle of the field killed the Tigers last year.

They used the middle of the field more this game than all last year. Very happy to see that.

I agree! They probably threw to the TE more in one game than all of last year combined. TE's are basically never covered. Throw it to him after some trust is developed through reps in practice; even with a defender on him. You get a P.I. or he catches it. Back shoulder type or behind a defender that isn't looking's head.
We have some good ones for sure - may as well use the whole field and keep the defense honest. If this is the norm this season - I think they break the points record for a season this year!

Utilizing tight ends is something I have really missed over the last several years......everyone remembers Renfrow as the hero in '16 but I also remember Leggett

Leggett got us in position to be there for sure! With Leggett and D. Allen we had a little thing going for a few years at the TE position.
Hard to say if it was a change in philosophy or that type of pass catching TE wasn't on campus. The TE we had now - were great blockers and team leaders! Taking nothing away from their contribution as the blocking and maneuverability ( Williams & Richard ).
Nonetheless - passing over the middle can't hurt the offense! Especially to some the big targets we have on the team.
