Playing freshmen so early!

Jan 4, 2021, 8:16 AM

We need to get to the point where we are like Alabama and play junior 4/5* players across the 1st string.

We seem to have to plug green freshmen to start every year!

Lazy post. Do your homework. Bama and others regularly play freshmen especially when they have a slew of juniors head to the league and have holes to fill.

We are not Alabama
We are not Like Alabama.
We are Clemson, and if playing Freshman gets us in the CFP's every year, then play them.
I'd rather take my chances and finish in the top 4 than cancel a bowl game after a 2-8 season.

Playing 3 star freshman isn’t going to get it done.

Playing in the ACC gets us into the CFP every year.

It is if they're the best player at their position.

that level of talent stacked throughout the 85 man roster: Bama, OSU, Georgia-approx 80% of their 85 man rosters are 4? and 5?s. We should be up to 66%-67% in 2021-

Bama's starting depth chart against ND included 9 sophomores, and 2 freshman. That's literally half of their starting lineup that isn't at least juniors, so I'd say they don't simply put put a team full of juniors as you suggest. Their 2nd team is packed full of both freshman and sophomores btw.

Also to add against your point, Harris was their leading rusher as a freshman against us in the 2018 NC game, and Smith was their #2 receiver in that game with 6 catches for 65 yards as a freshman.
