Passing of Noteworthy Tiger

Feb 17, 2021, 10:55 AM

My uncle, Len Yaun, of Aiken SC passed today. He lettered 4 years as a golfer in mid-50's. Looking at media guide; he was first Tiger golfer to play in NCAA tournament. He was 86.

Alzheimer's is a terrible thing. Shared stories of playing against Arnold Palmer when he was at Wake Forest.

Sorry for your loss! Alzheimer's is a horrible disease. I hope you and your family continue to tell his stories of playing against Arnold Palmer. I am sure your uncle enjoyed watching Palmer's success. RIP Len Yaun

I appreciate it, but both my parents went to USC. Funny story was they called us Friday because the doctor felt the end was close and I just grabbed a pullover. Of course, it was a Carolina one, but he was still consignant enough to whisper to me, "hey, what is this tugging at my pullover."

That was 1955 when he competed in NCAA Tourney

"When I was young, I was sure of many things; now there are only two things of which I am sure: one is, that I am a miserable sinner; and the other, that Christ is an all-sufficient Saviour. He is well-taught who learns these two lessons." -John Newton
