One amazing stat that we haven’t discussed is———-

Jan 2, 2020, 12:07 PM

Our Tigers have given up 18 touchdowns in 14 games thus far this season. Our next powerful opponent has given up 38 I believe. NO stat is more important than that!

They've also given up 1,000 yards more than we have.

It would be interesting to know the number of these TDS that were made late when the starters were out . I would guess close to half. Anyone know?

Interesting, I’m sure it is over half when the starters were pulled .

Texas A&M td was given up with 6 seconds left to our subs .
That one still bothers me a little ;)

I believe coach v put some of the starters in the game for that last play.

I've heard it's because they play in the SEC and we don't play anyone.

Good Tid-bit!

**I would also add in the list that LSU leads: total offense.

Look at the offensive production of some of the teams on their schedule. Bama was going tic-4-tac with a banged up QB and a defense that hadn't been good against "regular offenses"! Let alone old Joe Burrow. Meanwhile - UNC, BC and Wake are all ahead of the 3rd closest team LSWho played - ole miss!
Texas - finished the regular season 7-5 was 2nd closest.

My post to be clear is to suggest it wasn't like they were playing these juggernaut offenses - besides Alabama. Who had a banged up QB. Texas had an offense but a Big 12 defense - and like the Bama game - they won in a shoot out.

Auburn is not high on the list either. Georgia is 62nd in offense. If you struggle on offense and give the LSU offense all these extra possessions then "yes" they will torch you eventually. But, what if you can move the ball and play a stingy brand of defense?

I would agree up to a point, but absent a reliable field goal kicker it may not be the advantage it appears.

I do think that is going to be the difference. They have a great O, we have a great D. We have a great O they have a good D. We win.

We can expect more of the bend don't break type of defense we played last game. Keeps the score down and our Tigers in the game until a turnover or where we wear them down late. Because regardless of how we spin it LSU is going to move the ball. Worked last game and will work this game.
