They also have hot wimmenz.

But Clemson also has a beautiful campus, hot wimmenz, AND has everything needed to be an elite program.

Ole Miss is missing that 3rd piece.

People said the same about Clemson not that long ago.

Feb 7, 2013, 12:18 PM

Its really no different. They have some great recruiters, can offer early playing time, and had some family tie ins that worked in their favor.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The coaches must have it going on with the "family" thing

Feb 7, 2013, 12:20 PM

I am just glad that these guys are going somewhere other than Bama, LSU, UGA and especially Sakerliner

Clemson Football, the glory days are here!

Early playing time has to be a major reason

Feb 7, 2013, 12:24 PM

what are their admissions standards? Lower maybe???

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

A few years ago, the Mississippi State legislature.....

Feb 7, 2013, 12:32 PM

passed a law that required state supported institutions like Ole Miss and MSU to admit all prospective student-athletes if they met the minimum NCAA admissions requirements which, as you know, are pretty low.

Now, that is a rather rhetorical question, is it not?

Hey have a Kiffen as a coach.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I know I'll get beat up for this....

Feb 7, 2013, 12:50 PM

bc Im the only person that defends Ole Miss.

They have been getting 4 stars and a few 5 stars over the years. Recruiting talent to Oxford has not been an issue.

People act like this is the first time that Ole Miss has ever recruited well. Does anyone even bother to research past recruiting classes.

This website has turned into a bunch of ridiculous crybabies worried to death about what Ole Miss is doing.

As Hugh Freeze stated, it was the perfect storm for them and when you break it down you can see that. Tunsil is one get that was pretty impressive and even Golson was a steal.

Should people assume Dabo and Scott are cheaters too bc of our past success. I mean no way Spiller, Steward, Watkins, or Bellamy would have ever considered Clemson without getting paid.....right?

Sometimes when you've got the ball rolling with commitments and you've exceeded short term expectations on the field....good things happen on the recruiting trail.

The best part about Freeze addressing it all is that he basically said if you dont like it, find some proof and let him know...otherwise shut your mouth.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

that 2011 class was pretty stellar after a 6-7 season***

to follow up on past classes....

Feb 7, 2013, 12:52 PM [ in reply to I know I'll get beat up for this.... ]

This was the highest class they've had, but they have certainly pulled in their fair share of 4 and 5 star kids...just not an overall class that high.

Re: to follow up on past classes....

Feb 7, 2013, 1:30 PM

Just an honest question. I wonder if someone could determine how many times RKs Mom traveled from Nigeria to the US before the summer of 2012 and compare them to the last 6 months. At $3k per trip, it would be interesting to see who paid for it.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Freeze certainly wouldn't do anything illgal....

Feb 7, 2013, 1:19 PM [ in reply to I know I'll get beat up for this.... ]

It's not like he was involved in the NCAA investigation into the recruitment of Michael Oher to Ole Miss.

Freeze, Oher's high school coach, was hired by Ole Miss just a few days after Oher signed his LOI.

He was also cited by the NCAA for contacting other Memphis area high school recruits before he was initially hired by Ole Miss.

Yeah...nothing funny going on there. Freeze is as pure as the driven snow.

This is exactly why I have questions about it all...

Feb 7, 2013, 1:34 PM

not the 4 and 5 star kids. The Michael Oher/Freeze situation was plain dirty recruiting, despite how adorable Sandra Bullock was in making it all look so humanitarian, coincidental, and clean in nature. The limits those boosters went to for dear Ol Miss shows that the boosters are on the loose, and Ol Miss is not about to do anything about it.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

well....

Feb 7, 2013, 3:44 PM [ in reply to Freeze certainly wouldn't do anything illgal.... ]

Nothin came out of that investigation, and the Freeze hire to Ole Miss was a good one.

All anyone has is weak speculation. Ole Miss may be cheating, but the crap on this website accusing them of such is a bunch of garbage.

I do not think one hater on this website has logically looked at their recruiting class and tried to understand how they got those guys (assuming no cheating). Its very clear to see.

Freeze seems like a great guy, not sure why everyone bashes him.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You bring up an interesting and entirely new question!

Feb 7, 2013, 12:50 PM

I had not even considered this!
