So, the Confederate Flag ban is over?

Mar 21, 2015, 6:53 AM

It must be since Cootlumbia is hosting NCAA Regional Womens games.

Not exactly

USC getting a women's basketball regional is like Clemson or USC or Coastal getting a baseball regional. If it's merit-based -- that is, if your team is good enough to warrant hosting a regional -- then the boycott does not apply. The state is not eligible for pre-selected sites, such as all of the men's sites and all but the first two rounds of the women's tournament. I think that's how it goes, anyway.

Isn't that convenitent.............***

Jeeves has been following this closely.

Women's basketball : When you really like basketball enough to watch your daughter play at it.

I don't have a daughter. But, that would be the only way I would watch women's basketball. I live in the Columbia area. It is amazing to me how these dodos have gone apesh$t over women's basketball. Before these women started winning you could have dropped an A-bomb on Columbia and not killed more than a dozen women's basketball fans.

lmao! funny stuff and probably very true!***

Coach Wooden said that women's basketball is a more pure form of the game than the mens game.

I would bet the farm that, were the Clemson ladies ranked number one or in the top five, this board would be going wild and that large crowds would show up for the games.I have seen this happen at NCSU, UNC, and Duke. Winning makes all the difference!

CU Women's Hoops was exciting when Jim Davis ran the team

Mar 21, 2015, 2:13 PM

Davis' Tiger Women have our only ACC Tournament Title in history.

One of our girls, Amy Geren, actually won the overall national college 3-point shooting contest ... against the men's contestants.

Who the heck would thumb this down? What Tinker said is the truth. No one ever gave a rat's patoot about women's b-ball if one's daughter wasn't playing. Good or bad, sexist or naw, that's how it was- very evident. Now it's like the state sport here in the midlands.

So....there is no "ban" then? Nice!

I really like it when the communists are ineffective...

For the record I have two teenaged girls who I love very much . Still, basketball is a terrific sport to play and to participate in . However , and again I have two that I would kill for ...girls playing basketball is about as exciting as vanilla ice cream. No dunking ? Slower and less athletic . Uh , nope.
Somebody TD'd my post earlier sort of making light of women's hoops ....so here is another chance for that displeasure to be relieved. Thumbs away !
