I think we have some good building blocks going into next year and it'll be interesting seeing who comes back with the covid rule and this year not counting towards eligibility.
I feel like we've never really had great OL play but this year felt well below even our average. Good news is that OL recruiting seems to be picking up lately.
QB spot seems to be in good hands
RB will take a hit losing Etienne obviously but I think will work itself out with the guys already here plus the ones coming in for next year
WR I think will be better next year, hopefully we get Ross back, but I'm expecting to lose Rodgers and Powell. This feels to me like it's been a down year for WRU but hopefully getting Ngata and Ladson healthy will get us back on track
Defense might be hard to review after watching this game.
DL has got some young talent and should be improved next season
LB to me is a tough one, Skalski and Jones are good. But I feel like we need to get more athletic at this position. I think we're getting there with Trenton Simpson coming on lately and we seem to be recruiting well here.
CB I think had been a strength this season. Tonight they had a tough night but a lot of that was just really good plays by Fields and his WRs. I think we lose DK (say what you want about him but he is first team all ACC) but get everyone else back. I think we're at least as good next year as this year here
Safety I think needs help. I think we need more speed at the position. I feel like I've seen our safeties take bad angles all year long too.
I think the team should be better next year overall. O-Line should mature, D-Line a year older/bigger, could be a wagon at wr especially if Ross returns and Ngata/Ladson step up (with EJ). Agree Amari will go pro because his stock will be highest right now, same with Powell.
Can't wait to see DJ unleashed, think he's going to be 95% of TL. RB will be interesting - does Mellusi step up, Lyn-J? or a freshman step up (Shipley). The secondary needs serious work against elite talent like potentially Howell or another playoff run.
