National Fixed League

I didn't care much who won this game - I dislike both Scam and "Papa John Manning" but it's obvious the NFL wanted to send ole Manning out with a Super Bowl ring. There were so many blatantly botched calls that went the Broncos way. They were all, if not almost all, drive extending penalties that resulted in Denver scores. On the flip side, there were several drives by Carolina that should've been extended because of blantently "missed" calls. IE - the clear catch in the first half that was ruled incomplete as well as the roughing the punter that wasn't called, along with several missed roughing the QB that wasn't penalized.
This is why I rarely watch NFL anymore. It's become more "entertainment" than the better team winning, much like pro wrestling. It's become predictable, even in the regular season - so many 14+ point 4th quarter comebacks that end in a last second score. Just hope it doesn't trickle down to our beloved college game.
Agree, or flame away!

Don't ever compare the NFL to pro wrestling. How dare you downgrade wrestling like that. Wrestling is real. As real as the sun, or ice cream. Those rasslers put their lives on the line every night, every night. Wooooooooooo. Ok carry on.

In gambling and TV ratings you think there is no manipulating the outcome?
I generally enjoy your posts 52, you come across as intelligent - but you're very naive if you dismiss my original post. When there are billions of dollars involved in any business things can be controlled,or manipulated for a favorable outcome/feel good ending to a legends career.

Refs had nothing to do with Carolina turnovers and Denver being the better team tonight. If Scam wasn't so worried about breaking a finger nail, he would have tried to recover HIS fumble and possibly give his team a fighting chance to win at the end.

2013 - I'm the same - I dont care much for the NFL, but I keep up with it, because I gamble from time to time
I do agree with another poster that said Denver's D played lights out. They definitely did.
But if you've watched Denver & Peyton in the playoffs you'd know the better team didn't win. Peyton literally hasn't thrown the ball more than 25 yards down field in any game. His arm strength is very limited since his surgery.
I'll ask you this - was Alabama the better team vs Clemson? I think all Clemson fans, and most neutral observers would agree Clemson was the better team.
BTW - I accidentally thumb downed you when trying to reply. I blame the Grey Goose and high gravity beers I'll thumbs up several of your past posts.

It was obvious that the media wanted Peyton to be able to ride off into the sunset, so agree in that part.
I think Clemson was definitely the better team against Alabama, but they didn't make the mistakes we made and it cost us. That is a completely different scenario.
The Panthers never did anything so show they were the better team. Denver offense is mediocre but if you have a great D that's all you need, kinda like the 2000 Ravens

Then there was the mugging PI call on 3rd down (called, then the flag was picked up) that would've given Carolina a 1st down inside the 10, and the blatant offsides by Talib when Gano missed the FG. I'm a Steelers fan, but I agree that the Panthers were on the sandy end of a shaft weilded by officials that were gonna make sure little Peyton went out a winner.

You're correct. They definitely "missed" that offsides amongst many other bad or no calls.
I've always said it's not how many penalties are called against a team, it's when they are called, or missed.

You mean the fumble when he had a direct line to recover and started to dive for the ball and mysteriously backed off and didn't go for the ball?
Think your post validates my op
