I look for Thomas and Simms to have a big game. Not sure how NMST is inside but I doubt they can stop Thomas.

Clemson is ranked 8th in defense and NMST is ranked 14th. However....
NM States opponent offense ranked 199th...and the offenses of Clemson's opponents ranked 28th.

So...who's playing defense?

Well we let Miami score 63 while they held them to 54 lol. Nobody is saying they have a better D than we do but they have a great 3 point defending D.

They have one guy who is 6'9" who will be on Thomas, but then Simms' matchup is very favorable. The guy who plays post for NMSU is 6'5", but only 190 pounds. He rebounds like a maniac (13.2 a game!) but is slim, and the thicker and bigger Simms should be able to exploit this

Thanks! Hopefully Simms can take advantage and get some work done inside on O. I wonder if that kid from NMST down low is good on D. I think Thomas can beat anybody one on one anyways tho. Gonna be interesting to see if their 3 point D can hold us to under 30% or not. That could be key.

DeVoe and Reed will definitely have to be ON and Thomas will have to stay out of foul trouble for us to win. That said, if DeVoe and Reed are shooting well and Thomas is playing like he has been recently, I could see us making a deep run. This team hasn't really flipped that switch all season long. Their best, most complete game is still ahead of them

Agreed. Hopefully we can atleast make it to the second weekend. I think we have a great chance to. If Kansas makes it too I think that will be a heck of a game. We match up well with them imo. Watched some NMST vs Miami just now and dang does their D get after it but they are not as disciplined as UVA.
