LSU was a disaster last year. Not sure why he would want to be a part of that culture. To each his own i guess.

He was most likely going to split playing time with Simpson or back him up.

Check out Simpson's post-season snaps vs. Jones. Mike was rarely on the field, and against OSU he barely played. Simpson was gobbling up the majority of snaps.

I think he saw the writing on the wall.
