Median age of U.S. citizen is 38.4 years

That means over half the population wasn't even alive the last time UGA won a national championship. Let that sink in to the puppies.

And the other half wasn't sober. What is this Jawja championship you speak of.

It was back before the Unicorns missed the Ark.

That kind of info really puts things in perspective. If we assume that anyone interested in their teams achievements would be at least 5 year old, any Bulldog fan younger than 45 has never had the opportunity to really celebrate a national football championship.

My wife and I attended the game in Athens in 1980 after which the Dawgs went on to win the National Championship. It was literally about 2 months after our wedding (and we are still going strong). It was a great game but Herschel Walker and company were just a bit too much for the Tigers. One of our not so pleasant memories of the game was of some of their fans throwing beer cans at us after the game as we walked to our car. Full cans of beer. We haven't been back since and probably never will return to a game in Athens.

The next year we beat them in Clemson and went on to win OUR national championship. To this day, that remains as one of my most memorable games for Clemson. Our defense force NINE turnovers that day. Can't wait to kick off the 2021 season by beating the Dawgs in Charlotte.

My experience in ‘82 was similar. I pulled up one of those 4-5 ft wooden stakes that was used to rope off grass areas and carried it to the car. Their fans were “off the chart” belligerent. I’ll never go back there.

I experienced that in Athens in 1978, only game we lost that year.
