LSU: Over/Under in 2020- 8.5 Wins

LSU had probably the greatest CFB team of all time last year. Tip your hat to them, they were truly elite in every way. But as we move on to 2020, the brevity of the situation becomes clear. LSU is 110th in FBS in Returning Production. Only Auburn's 2011 team (who went 8-5 after Cam Newton's 2010 NC) comes close to the amount of production lost in modern college football history. Last year's magical run was their 1st and only Playoff appearance, and only 2 years removed from losing to Troy at home on Homecoming. I'm not running them down- they deserve respect; i'm simply pointing out that their Program hasn't exactly shown they can absorb this unprecedented loss in productivity and expect to get back to the Playoffs. But anything is possible when you have talent, right?!?!

So would I , aside from 3 games they should roll over everyone else . Think TAMU is a team they might have to look out for outside of UF , Bama and Auburn ...but the rest are powderpuffs imo

Obvious wins are 7: UTSA, Rice, Ole Miss, Nicholls State, at Arkansas, Mississippi State, South Carolina
Likely losses are 2: at Florida, Alabama
Can they win two of these three? Texas at Auburn at Texas A&M
If their QB play is decent, they have a chance. Otherwise, ain't no way.
I think A&M and Auburn are better. LSU only wins if one or both of those teams is faltering late in the season (which could actually happen to LSU).
The UT game is a true wild card. An enormous amount of pressure is on UT this season. If they finally turn the corner under Tom Herman, they have a very good chance of beating LSU.
Take the under. My prediction is LSU will go 8-4. If their offense isn't up to snuff, a disappointing season. If QB play is very good, 10-2.

Tamu is expected to be much improved and don't play Clemson or UGA this year. Many/most expect LSU @ Tamu to meet at season end both 9-2.

Tamu is expected to be much improved and don't play Clemson or UGA this year. Many/most expect LSU @ Tamu to meet at season end both 9-2.

LSU was great this year, but will have at least 3 losses in 2020, it'll be a rebuilding year for them. Now maybe in 2021/2022 they can get back to the CFP, but no way, no how, this year.

They were not an elite defense. They won games because they simply piled up an avalanche of points. The O was easily one of the best of all time. Not so the D.

By the end of the season LSU D was excellent if not elite. 8 players from that D signed NFL contracts and two more are projected as first round picks when eligible.
At the end of the season LSU held the last 4 teams far far below their season averages, giving up only 1 TD pass in that run. 3 of those teams ended up in the Top Ten and includd QBs Hurts and TL.

Those stats are skewed Newb cuz the SEC. ACC can’t beat SEC teams with offense, oh wait.
On one hand you downplay Clemson because of their schedule and on the other you play an ACC QB strength to support your defenses epic numbers. Which is it Boomer or are you still trying to get in touch with a “friend?”

What an absurd statement.
FACT: Nowhere have I said ACC teams can't beat SEC teams.
FACT: Clemson has an excellent team and a great QB who should be the first player in the draft..
FACT: Clemson has a much easier schedule than any SEC team, one of the easiest P5 schedules in the nation. There are 6 SEC teams ranked higher than any ACC team not named Clemson.
Nowhere have I said anything different. You are using BS to try to discredit my posts. FAIL!

Sir, I do not intend to demean the LSU defense. They were extremely good, but not elite. Whenever they played any decent teams last year, they surrendered quite a few points. Elite defenses are Clemson's 2018, Saban's best 'Bama teams, Carroll's USC teams, Osborn's Husker teams, Switzer's Sooner teams, Johnson's Miami teams, Paterno's Penn State teams, Bear's 'Bama teams, Bowden's FSU teams, just to mention a few. I repeat, LSU won last year because their offense was unstoppable.

There are 7 bad to mediocre teams on that schedule

Upsets happen, but I'm not betting on Arkansas tripping them up in Fayetteville or Ole Miss, Miss St, or SCar winning in Baton Rouge.
They likely need to win 2 out of Texas, Florida, Bama, Auburn, and A&M to win 9. From most to least likely i would probably rate them Texas > at Auburn > at A&M > at Florida > Bama. Auburn lost a lot defensively so that and the Texas game seem quite winnable. Is A&M actually going to be legit good next year or is it still all Jimbo hype there?
Is it -110 or is there juice on one side? If it's a straight -110 i would certainly be leaning towards the OVER.

Not -110, juice on the over.
LSU o/u per LV Odds is 9.5, -175, +155.
Gotta lay 175 to win 100 to bet the over. those who think LSU will win 9 or less can bet 100 to win 155.
Oh, I made a mistake earlier. LSU had 8 from that D sign NFL contracts and 3 of the remaining have been rated as 1st round picks by at least one guru.
LSU will be a very good team next year but not good enuf IMO to feel comfortable betting over 9.5.

I wouldn't want to take the OVER there at 9.5 and getting poor odds.
