LOL, The SEC protected their national title contenders:

Aug 7, 2020, 6:17 PM

Bama gets Missouri and Kentucky
Georgia gets Arkansas and Mississippi State
LSU gets Missouri

All roads to the natty go through Missouri, didn't catch the other.

Our new teams due to covid: Miami, Pitt and at Virginia Tech.

Two different leagues I know, but wow, Bama and Georgia got some preferential treatment. The other teams in the SEC should be good and pissed. The SEC was just flat out obvious about it. That league is run by Bama. Missouri gt Bama and LSU, LOL.

South Carolina got Auburn at home and Ole Miss on the road.

Oh, LSU's other game was Vanderbilt, LOL***

Get ready for a WHOLE LOTTA whining & campaiging from the $EC this year about how they should have 2 teams in the CFP. If we are lucky enought to see a full season, this campaigning will be unbearable.

The SEC is probably the most corrupt conference in the nation.

Arkansas plays all6 SEC teams in the preseason ranking

Aug 8, 2020, 11:37 AM

Mizzou only plays 4

I think the SEC did as fair a scheduling job as they probably could, given the framework they had. Remember that they kept divisions, unlike the ACC.

I agree to your last point, but when you brought in our new teams, you can’t possibly be complaining about our SOS vs the SEC’s, right?

I personally wish we were able to add a legit team from the SEC or at least someone outside of the ACC not called Notre Dame, so we wouldn’t have to hear #### about our crummy schedule again. It was brutal being in New Orleans in January. It would also help us be a little more battle tested come playoff time.

Nice try but think about this

Aug 7, 2020, 11:38 PM [ in reply to Re: LOL, The SEC protected their national title contenders: ]

we've gone 11-2 in the last five years. And we played Bama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Tex AM. Granted we played South Carolina, but none of the other bad SEC teams. Going beyond the five years, we have a 4-peat going against Auburn and looking for a 3-peat vs Tex Am next time. That's two teams South Carolina has never beaten. And we will be going for a 7-peat next time we play UofSC. Not worried about not playing an SEC team, or LSU in the natty. Nobody was going to beat LSU at that point. And there is nobody that will ever say they denied Bama twice in national championship games. Played for 5 natties, won 3. I'll take that track record. Our schedule has us prepared. I will say that when we lost the South Carolina game and replaced it with Virginia Tech, Pitt or Miami, it got much tougher. I mean Arkansas, Ole Miss, Vandy, Kentucky, Tennessee, really? Is that the Tennessee that lost to Georgia State. Check below, that's a lot of Ws

Bama and Georgia are playing each other. LSU is playing Florida. Who else would you pair these teams with?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

So they can only play one good conference foe? What about

Aug 7, 2020, 11:47 PM

the gauntlet? It can't be a gaunlet if it has Arkansas (losers to San Jose State and Western Kentucky 45-19), Tennessee (loser to Georgia State), Vandy (Losers to UNLV 34-10 and Purdue 42-24), not to mention Mississippi, Mississippi State and Missouri (Loser to Wyoming and Vanderbilt). And South Carolina (two time loser to the Citadel)

These teams do not a gauntlet make.

None of those teams play only one good foe. Bama plays Georgia, LSU, Texas A&M and Auburn; LSU has Florida, Bama, Texas A&M and Auburn; Georgia has Bama, Florida and Auburn.

UGA also plays Tamu

Thus;
LSU plays # 3, 8, 11, 13
UGA plays # 3, 8, 11, 13
bama plays # 4, 5, 11, 13
AU plays # 3, 4, 5, 13
UF plays # 4, 5, 13

maybe someone would post the murderers row CU plays?

Silly corn dog. Already bolstering about rankings when not a game has been played. Ain’t scared of any of those teams. Cracks me up when you SEC homers bring up FL and Auburn. Exactly when did they reenter the scene of CFB relevance? Same BS every year.

WHERE ARE THE ATHLETES?

In the first 3 rounds of the draft 40 SEC players were taken to 8 ACC.

LSU had more taken in those early rounds than the entire ACC.

That imbalance is repeated every year.

Or is the NFL believing a biased Finebaum?

Yea, weird. Guess the SEC just had crappy coaching staffs. Doing less with more - UGA lost to USC, Lol! All those draftees getting worked by 2 star chickens. Except, I Don’t give two $&@“& about the ACC, just Clemson and their repeatedly making your narrative a public joke. Go talk to your friends.... oops.

Here Goes

Aug 9, 2020, 1:25 AM [ in reply to Re: So they can only play one good conference foe? What about ]

These are the final rankings, not preseason:

2015
Runner-Up
#1 Alabama L
#5 Oklahoma w
#11 Notre Dame W
#14 Florida State w
#15 North Carolina w

2016 National Champion:
#2 alabama, won #1 when we played them,, dropped because we beat them
#6 Ohio State, won #3 when we played them, droopped because we beat them
#8 Florida State won
#16 Virginia Tech won
#21 Louisville won
#24 Auburn won

2017
Lost in Semifinal
#1 Alabama L
#10 Auburn W beat both of the national title game participants
#23 NC State w
#24 Virginia Tech w

2018
National Champion
#2 Alabama w
#5 Notre Dame w
#15 Syracuse w
#16 Texas AM w

2019
Runner-up
#1 LSU L
#3 Ohio State, w dropped from #2 when we beat them
Texas AM w dropped out after bowl
#23 Virginia w dropped after we beat them.

And then there is this article. It is 2 years old, so you can imagine how much better Clemson's numbers are with the last two seasons in the books, 7-1 vs top 25 since the article. And yes, I'm sure with last year, LSU ws able to greatly improve on that dismal 6-12 record. Anyway, the article gives you an idea. And it is an SEC site.

LSU '19 beat:

#2 Clemson
#4 UGA
#6 UF
#7 OU
#8 bama

#14 AU
#25 UTx

Every one of those teams were Top Ten when LSU beat them, 4 were Top Five.

Not claiming LSU '19 was the best team ever but clearly LSU '19 achieved more than any team ever.

1. LSU (15-0)
2. Clemson (14-1)
3. Ohio State (13-1)
4. Georgia (12-2)
5. Oregon (12-2)
6. Florida (11-2)
7. Oklahoma (12-2)
8. Alabama (11-2)
9. Penn State (11-2)
10. Minnesota (11-2)
11. Wisconsin (10-4)

UGA was already scheduled to play at Alabama, thus it was not on the revised list. If the season is played, UGA will play @ bama.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Each ranked team in the West plays 4 ranked teams

Aug 8, 2020, 11:50 AM

Out of 5. Each ranked team in the East plays 3. Georgia and Florida got off easy, but because they are in the weaker division. Bama got Mizzou and KY as adds, but they already had Georgia, LSU, Auburn and TAMU. Georgia got a break, but they already had Bama and Auburn on the schedule. If you switched one of those out with LSU or TAMU, then LSU or TAMU would be playing all 5 ranked opponents. I think Florida got the biggest break. And poor old Arky plays all 6 ranked teams...the only team in the league that does.
