It is no secret that the ACC was the best conference in college football last year, and the SEC was at best 3rd behind the big 10. The entire conference is still in shock over this. Outside of Alabama they did not field one single team that belonged in the top 15.

I live in VA now, but there are some great guys up here - most are Hokie fans. Before the NC game I told them that if the Tigers win, you will not hear Clemson fans chanting "ACC, ACC, ACC . . ". They took modest offensive to me and said that they would be pulling for Clemson against 'Bama.
I thanked them for that but said that Clemson plays for Clemson - not the ACC.
Forget this conference stuff.

Well for sure it's a lot better to be recognized for playing in a tough Conf.
Before the last 2 years the ACC was really a joke.

it is to our benefit that the other ACC schools do well in their OOC games, especially against the SEC. Helps our strength of schedule if nothing else, which helps in the CFP rankings each year.

are simply doing so, not that it's b/c there has been this lifelong love fest with the conference, but simply throwing it back at the ESPN and SEC homers that have been riding those coat tails for the last few years. They're simply saying "hey, thought the SEC was some big bad conference that beat everyone, all the time"?
