Jolt Cola anyone?

I remember good ole Jolt cola well in middle school, as it was forbidden by my parents. I was a hyper kid anyway and my parents didn’t even want me to have a regular coke, much less some Jolt. “It’ll make you bounce off the walls.” We’d ride our bikes to the only gas station around that sold it and buy one. It felt like we were buying beer or cigarettes then. I remember so many parents acted like it was the worlds worst thing. And now look at all the energy drinks on the market. Good times.

My sister taught middle school when Jolt cola was around. She had one kid who apparently had cocoa puffs and Jolt cola for breakfast everyday. I heard a lot about that kid.

Funny I was thinking about this soft drink the other day when RC was being kicked around the board. I remember this one well. When I played little league baseball, we would stop by the store for a can of Jolt and a pouch of Big League Chew before heading off to play. Man you’d be so hyped up your hair would tingle.

My brother and I had to have some big league chew before games too. We thought we were some big timers. And every now and then dad would buy us some of that shredded beef jerky in what looked like a dip can. We’d grab a pinch and stuff it in our front lips like we were dipping.

Late night driving back to Clemson at the end of the weekend, I would stop and by Nitro. They were like Jolt with a kick.
