It was like Chad had a shiny new sports car

Nov 15, 2014, 8:41 PM

and like a spoiled, rich kid with a new toy showing it off, he totaled it.

GT runs the freaking option and their QB did not take that many hits.

I know one thing, no one will come knocking down the WEZ doors this year wanting to hire Chad. Any OC making $1.3/yr should come up with a scheme that gets more than 6 points against this GT team.

Who thinks Chip Kelly's offense would look this bad even if he had the exact same players? Anyone?

If Stoudt was running Chip Kelly's offense? Yes, it would look that bad.

Cole would not play for Chip

Nov 15, 2014, 8:52 PM

I think Chip Kelly would put in a defensive back to run this offense before letting Cole play.

Scheme should be his forte. Haven't seen that this year.

donate about half that salary to charity as he did nothing to earn it.

And that is the problem. Paying a guy 1.3 mil who looks great when he has an obvious talent advantage against the majority of ACC teams. But in 2nd halves against any good team his offensive team gets that deer in the headlights look. Bad thing is GT doesn't have a very good defense. And to be such a genius, why has Cole gotten worse after supposedly winning the job in spring and summer?

Chip kelly is scoring points in the nfl with Matt freaking barkley

The Chad @ 1.3 Mil has had 2 games this year with out

Nov 15, 2014, 8:51 PM

an offensive TD. Are we getting the best bang for the buck.
If I had Tajh and all the NFL talent that the Chad has had
I would look good as an OC also. Just say'in

that's the issue for me.... with all the talent at Clemson

Nov 15, 2014, 8:51 PM

I don't care who you put behind center... we should be a lot more productive than we've been the last 4 weeks

a lot more

its the 5 guys ahead of the Q/B

badge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don't buy that...

Nov 15, 2014, 8:57 PM

is it an issue? Sure.

But it's been the same issue for 4 years. No excuse for that.

Re: The talent should be on the OL to start with. We

Nov 15, 2014, 8:58 PM [ in reply to that's the issue for me.... with all the talent at Clemson ]

either don't have it or don't have anyone to coach it. The same problem, year after year.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

And who is responsible for that?***

Nov 15, 2014, 9:00 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

agreed... but I think it's more of a scheme issue

Nov 15, 2014, 9:01 PM [ in reply to Re: The talent should be on the OL to start with. We ]

OC determines what type of guys he wants, and he determines technique and scheme, regardless of what the OL coach wants.

Rich Rod was famous for that. Remember, he wanted smaller, quicker guys.

Beyond that, you tailor your scheme to the capabilities of

your players.
