Good luck to all hs seniors waiting to hear from Clemson

Feb 14, 2021, 7:57 AM

It will be an anxious, emotional next couple of days. Hang in there...you will find the right place for you, whether that be Clemson or someplace else. You will all do great things, and Clemson would be lucky to have every one of you.

Good luck, and GO TIGERS!!

I still shake my head when I think back to 1972, and Clemson

was the ONLY school I applied to. I definitely had all my eggs in won basket! It was obviously easier to get into Tigertown back then.

No national championships back then, and maybe not so many

out of staters. By the time I got to CU in 1986 (I never applied to ANY college), the states with the highest student populations after SC, GA, and NC were PENNSYLVANIA and NEW JERSEY!! It was cheaper for them to go out of state to Clemson than to go to their own in-state universities!

in the year considering I was quite a ways from graduation and wasn't close to being a top student. The guy who was second in my class had applied long before me and didn't hear anything for a long while after me and was so mad that he ended up going to Columbia.

Did I read somewhere earlier that there were 32,000 applications for the 2021-22 class? Publicity associated with our football program has had a dramatic effect on the academic side as evidenced by applications for admission have come from all parts of the United States. And they are also learning our academic reputation is excellent.

That was in Clements' last general communication. Last week, I think.

Advice for HS seniors

Go to a tech school for 2 years and transfer to get your Clemson diploma. 4 year schools are overpriced.

There's something in these hills.

At least the first year basic stuff for sure! The way they

I didn’t plan it that way but my best friend did. We both went to coastal Carolina & he transferred to Clemson after 2 years & I stayed for 4 years.

Thanks DS for your encouraging words. I'd like to add that the Bridge program is an excellent option for a lot of kids if that happens to be the offer they get.
