Is this a true statement.

Feb 17, 2020, 7:15 PM

I saw a tweet today on a recruiting board that stated that 40% of all GT grads are millionaires. I question this

Here's a stat. Almost our entire D-Line from 2 years ago are millionaires. Maybe 100%. But stats can be twisted anyway one desires.

Lol at 60% of GT grads not being able to scrape together...

I think you misheard their statement.

I can’t say either way on percentage but my 25 year old son graduated from GT with an aerospace engineering degree. He’s an officer in the USAF working in his field of study. Beyond his military career he should be set up pretty well in the private sector for the rest of his working days . I’m sure he’ll make a heck of a lot more than his old man.

Sorry median. Not average.

That’s not what that info is stating

Feb 17, 2020, 9:22 PM [ in reply to Re: Is this a true statement. ]

130k is the median household income of a GT students ‘ parents. Scroll down and you’ll see Median income for a GT grad is in the mid 80s at age 34

I saw this under a tweet that is related to a five star, number one linebacker who has the y jackets in his top eleven. Includes our Tigers also. Perhaps you saw it

For a school that's heavy in engineering and sciences and light in liberal arts AND with a mostly male population, it's possible.

If you work for 20 to 30 years with a relatively high salary and save, then it's easy to be a millionaire, especially if you consider house appreciation and 401k as part of that amount.

If 40% of their living graduates are 40 or older, I'd believe it and that sounds like a reasonable number.

It's like the Austin Powers ransom demand. Being a millionaire doesn't mean what it used to.
